It was good to get a troll.
" This set is my biggest Lord Of The Rings Purchase so far and I was looking forwards to getting it.
Although I knew in advance that it did not have one it was still a little disappointing that there was no base plate to put all the structures on to give them a grounding.
I like the door a lot and have charged the troll through it countless times. Also the well feature is pretty good even if it could have been a brick or so deeper, a thing that is easy to fix if you have the right bricks.
One thing I think would improve the set a lot is more Moria Orcs / Goblins as in the film the place was swimming with them.
But overall it is a fun set to build and has many good features to enable play. It just could have been that little bit better for the sake of one or two extra things. However still a very decent set that I would recomend as a must have item for any Lord of The Rings fan.

" I have bought my first batch of these minifigures hoping to get the full set, however I am one short having duplicates of some.
Unlike the other collectable minifigures these are quite hard to work out what is in each packet simply due to a lot of them being similar in the way they feel, they have small or no equipment and are a basic figure with just a hat or hair.
Having said that they have very nice printing on them which is quite unique to this set. It is also nice to get a range of people doing sports of different types and these should prove useful for general CITY set-ups where they could be put to all manner of other tasks. For example a group of people out jogging, people in a house pool, or doing something in a CITY park. Even just waiting for the bus/train.
They come with a pre-printed base which whilst nice for the set and display purposes has limited reuse value due to its printing with the team GB details etc., unlike the normal black minifigure base. Although I am generally one who prefers printing over stickers I wonder if in this case stickers would have been better, so that the bases could be reused in other projects once a display set was obtained?
