Necessary and Fantastic
" Well, at least in America, this product is exactly what it looks like. With this transformer, you can recharge multiple battery boxes at different times of course, so there is really no need to have more than one of these. It's constructed well, too. This has been knocked off of the wall a couple of times, and the metal prongs haven't bent yet, as some cheaply made ones do. Obviously, you shouldn't get it if you don't have a Rechargeable Battery box. "

 LEGO Vehicles - Helicopter
LEGO Vehicles - Helicopter
Turn the gear wheel on this realistic helicopter model to make the main and tail rotors spin together, while another gear operates the working winch to lift heavy loads. You can even rebuild it into a seaplane for even more functional LEGO TECHNIC fun! Gears really turn to spin the roters! Rebuild your model into a LEGO TECHNIC seaplane!

A Good Buy for Technic fans
" When I got this set, I immediatly started building the alternate Seaplane model. The Seaplane model uses less peices than the Helicopter, and doesn't have as much detail. On the seaplane model, it has one knob that can be turned to turn the propellor. I played with it for one day and got bored, and now it is just collecting dust on my shelf. However, it has a great price, and makes an exellent cheap birthday gift for your friend.
Personally, I don't care for Lego Technic that isn't powered automatically, but I love the Technic models with the Power Functions included. Instead of buying this set, I would keep the money and save it for a more impressive set. "

Great If Used Correctly
" This is great if you are trying to make a realistic electric or deisel locomotive. This motor is also included in the new Cargo Train and Passenger Train. Its pulling power makes me a bit sad compared to the Emerald Night.
The motor has a ton of horsepower, but hardly any torque to match. One basic rule that Lego seemed to ignore is that your torque should at least match your horseower to create the ideal motor. Lego could have solved this by adding small rubber bands similiar to the Emerald Night. After all, the rubber bands are what gives the Emerald Night so much power.
For example, with the Passenger Train, if you run the motor with just the locomotive, on setting 7 it will tip over on turns. Even adding the middle passenger car still makes it tip over. Lego solved this extra horsepower by having the last car use a higher friction arrangement on the front bogie by spacing the wheels out more. This way, the flangs grind the rails a bit more, thus slowing the train down. It also makes the train more symmetrical, because it copys the wheel spacing on the locomotive. So that's how lego did it. However, this arrangement can backfire if you want more cars.
For longer trains with 4+ cars, I would suggest putting the wheels side by side for less flang friction WITHOUT a high friction wheel arrangement For trains with 2-3 cars, I would suggest copying the Passenger Train wheel arrangement. But remember: only the last car needs only ONE high friction arrangement.
Overall, this is a great power functions set, but for maximum enjoyment, follow my advice above. "

A Great Addition
" I don't know about you guy,s but ANY Lego Star Wars set doesn't have much playability by itself. The REAL fun begins when you start a collection of sets, giving you the option to mix and match minifigures in each set. Once you have this set, I would recommend getting the Slave I or some other enemy ship. Or maybe the TIE fighter to recreate movie scenes. The X-Wing has a ton of realistic features. However, the wings are sort of delicate, on account that they are only held in place by 2 rubber bands. This set is also a good way to get a lot of minifigures at once. I recommend this to any Lego Star Wars Classic collector. "

A Must Have for any Lego Train Buyer
" With this remote, you can control 4 Emerald Night trains, or 8 Passenger Train or Cargo Trains. In other words, you can run four trains with both lights and motor action, or eight trains with only motor power. It uses the battery power very efficiently, too, only using it when you turn the knobs. (I've had a remote for 8 months so far with the same batteries in it) Because of this feature, there isn't an on/off switch. Great price, too. It greatly enhances the play experience of the Emerald Night, or maybe a custom train of yours. "

A Really Great Value
" I was suprised that this set was only 20 bucks, because most Lego truck sets cost around 30 bucks. It adds to nearly any other Lego City set you buy. I especially love the "hose" on the trailer. The only thing that bugs me is the side view mirrors on the cab. They make the cab like three studs wider. Exhaust pipes like on the Lego City Truck would have made this set perfect. I also wish there was a way to add more trailers on behind, you know, like a ball joint hitch. Oh, well.
Great set for 20 bucks.

Cool!
" A great addition to any lego city. Includes two minifigures with rare clothes, 2 cups, a fish, bike, etc. Also works with the tow truck. Even good for the not-so-advanced builders. The only problem is the stickers. I have to have my stickers PERFECT, but I just think I'm a freak that way. Hopefully you're not like me. "

Great for Certain People
" This is a good thing if you are like me and are constantly running your trains a lot. I bought this with the Emerald Night, of course, and the 7938 Passenger Train, because the passenger train only includes a non-rechargeable version of this. Same with the new cargo train, too. The price is a little discouraging, though, but if used enough, it saves time and money, that is, if your little brothers don't destroy it before then. Another beauty is that you really only need one 10DVC transformer to recharge all of your Battery Boxes. Really, the only thing I regret is the price, but I'll soon forgive myself for that. "

A Bad Buy for Lego Train Lovers
" This was a very bad idea from the start. It's good that it can be broken down into fourths, but it's not too good if you have the regular RC track. The first problem is the trains.
On this track, the Emerald Night train sometimes stalls when going over the flexible track. And the new RC Passenger Train peels out for a while before starting to go. It's probably not good for the wheels, either.
Another problem is the realistic-ness of it. I think that Lego came out with this set to make larger turns and smaller track peices available. It's hard to keep the large turns from moving around, especially when a train goes over it. And chances are that you won't need all of the peices. It was a good idea, but not worth it.

Great for any Lego Railway
" If you have too many turn peices, this is a great way to use all of them wthout using up too much space. With these you can create another track that is parallel to your original track. And if you do it right, you are saving straight tracks and using more curves, as that seems to be a pandemic in today's lego trains.. It's also good if you have 2 or more trains, that way you can run trains in opposite directions without them crashing. Getting 4 switches will allow you to make 2 seperate loops that don't overlap. "
