A Great Value
" I imagine this would go great with the Garage set or the Sports Car set. The string is a little hard to attach to the hook, but overall, it's great. A bigger tow truck would be nice, because I've never seen a tow truck in real life that looks like that. "

It's Great!!
" Ok, first of all, this train goes WAY faster than the Emerald Night Train. In fact, it goes so fast that without all 3 cars, it tips over on turns. However, it goes slower and slower with every extra car you put on, and it doesn't have great traction. And on the flexible track, sometimes the train will peel out for a long time before it starts going again. Another thing that seemed to be missing was doors, so you have to put the minifigures in through the roof. Lights also would have been a good addition, too. "

Great!
" It's great, but I think Lego should come out with a variety of larger turns, and should sell the turns and straights separately. But it's really great with the Emerald Night train. "

Outstanding, but it has its cons
" Don't get me wrong. This is the greatest lego train set I've seen. However, some things should be pointed out. First of all, the set has more details without the power functions motor. If you add the motor, you have to take out the firebox in the cab, and you can't fit the driver in it. Also, the rechargeable battery takes up all of the room in the tender, and there is an ugly wire that connects the tender to the engine.
This product isn't meant for anyone less than the age on the box, and shouldn't be roughly played with, otherwise the gears on the bottom come out, and then you have to go through the tedious procedure of putting the gears back in.
Other than these few errors, Lego really did good on this model. I hope they continue to make more engines like this. And hopefully, with motors that don't take away the details.
