Scooby Scooby Doo!
" I have been waiting for these with excitement since they announced Lego was producing Scooby Doo sets. Lego did not disappoint! I just got three of the sets in the mail today and spent the afternoon putting them together.
This one, the airplane set, is a fairly quick and easy build. I love that the horseman's head comes with a person on the inside, not just the jack-o-lantern. The hamburger "bombs" are really fun to make and use. Scooby and Shaggy fit well inside the plane (and if you have multiple sets, Scooby's head is interchangeable).
No cons on this one, really! If you're a Scooby Doo Fan, this is a much needed kit for your collection! "

Piggy piggy!
" When I saw this Lego piggy bank, I knew it was going to have a home with me. The final product is super cute. There are 2 different pieces I've not seen before-a connector piece for the ears and a round piece used for the nose.
Pros: There was a lot of thought put into this-the tail is curly and moves. The eyes move which is great and the ears move back and forth and even around a bit. There's a nice slot in the top to put money in.
Cons: To get to the money, you do have to take apart the top. Easy enough to do, but I think I'd rather have had some sort of "cap" or easily removable piece rather than having to take out individual pieces. The pieces you remove are actually hard to grab with your fingers to take out. I'm also worried about the head being accidentally broken apart as you try to pry the top pieces off.
Finally, the cavity for the money is fairly small. Good for coins but not dollars.
So overall, it's a nice little piece but probably not the most practical for actual piggy bank use. If you're a LEGO collector, you'll want to pick it up, but if you're thinking this is good for a kid to actually use, I'd pass. Most kids I know put their money in a bank, take it out, in-out and I just don't think this is up to that kind of use. "

Hoppy Easter!
" This was a nice quick seasonal build. I think it was well thought out and has a ton of detail. Love the broken egg on the floor. It has quite a few interesting pieces like the eggs, the paint bottles, the coffee pot you make. There really isn't any big negatives in this one in my opinion. I feel like you're getting what you're paying for. "

Reindeer
" The reindeer in this kit is fairly cute. It's an easy build, nothing too creative about it, but does look nice in the end. It does come with interchangeable presents, which is a nice feature. I do also like the antlers and how they were put together.
I do wish that a red piece for the nose would have been included so you could make Rudolph if you chose.
If you're looking for an add on piece for the winter village, size wise, the reindeer is almost the same height as the buildings. I haven't finished putting mine together, but it kind of stands out with the ones I do have built.
It is the same size as the snowman released around the same time as it. "

Turkey Turkey Turkey
" I have to say this is just an average seasonal kit. The turkey is easy enough to put together and does fit in with the reindeer and snowman also released recently. It's the same size as them but I'd say a little less creative.
There are no extras with this kit unlike the reindeer that comes with 2 presents or the bat from Halloween with a pumpkin.
I do like the tail and how it's adjustable. Very creative part of the build.
I'd say last year's Thanksgiving Feast was much more playable than this turkey. "

Ho ho ho! Santa comes to the Winter Village!
" I have collected the Winter Village sets since the first building (only missing the unofficial train) and have loved putting them together and expanding the village each year. When I heard they were doing Santa's Workshop, I was very excited as that was a perfect addition to the village. Once I finished building it, however, my excitement had faded quite a bit.
There are a few good bits to this set. The price is right (though this one might not have been the best one to skimp on), it has a sleigh, Santa and Mrs. Claus, a two part building, plus a toy making machine. It does have a chimney, a small tree and a North Pole sign as well. The sleigh is very well done. I like the runners and all the little packages.
The reindeer are very cute. I know someone mentioned in a review they'd rather have molded ones but I kind of like these brick ones. The faces and "fur" brick make for a cute deer. I'm not sure if they did this on purpose or not, but there was an extra round red ball that made a perfect Rudolph nose if you chose to add him into the scene. On the negative side of this, there are only 5 reindeer total. Not 8 (or 9 counting Rudolph) which would have been nice for pulling Santa's Sleigh. Size wise, the 4 reindeer pulling his sleigh, are actually pretty good-any more might have over whelmed the scene as the buildings really aren't that big.
I am sad that once again Lego chose not to include a light brick. They didn't do that last year either and I think that really detracts from the collectability and consistency of these village sets. Another missing element is a free standing light post/lantern that the other sets have. I always look forward to see how they were going to change them and include them in each new set.
The Christmas tree that's included is fairly small, but looks OK standing next to Mrs. Claus. I'd have preferred something a little bigger, but I liked how it came together. The same with the North Pole sign. I wish it was bigger as it does fade into the background while it should stand out, but it does look nice.
The buildings themselves are alright. The outsides are nice looking and have some good details. The colored lights do connect this set with others in this series and the white snow roof will fit in well. Insides are a little bare. While I like Santa's chair, his letter writing space is very cramped and very basic (the letters are thrown on the floor basically). The Elf building has a small machine in there and that's it.
The stained glass windows do look nice but I wouldn't have considered this a major feature. The "stained glass" is tiny and does not stand out. By looking at it, no one would point to it and say, "wow, nice stained glass!"
Finally, the instructions. I really wish there would be a color guide in the beginning as it can be really difficult to decipher what color is being called for, especially when there are 2 or 3 different shades of one color being used. Lt. grey, dk. grey and black, the browns...clear vs a light color. The colors used for the instructions do not usually match what you have in your hand so having a guide you can refer to would make things little easier.
Also, there is a mistake in the instructions. Book 2, page 61 calls for 2 grey dots being placed (on the plane, I believe), but you only need one (and only get one for this spot). I know mistakes happen, but just wanted to let people know so they aren't confused why the next piece doesn't fit! "

Snowman
" Having put this snowman together, I'm not as impressed as I was with the bat that released last month. The finished product is nice looking, but other than the arms that are bit odd looking, there are no moving parts. It is a solid piece, it has a bit of weight to it and I think it could stand up to some play without falling apart.
The broom is a nice touch-I'm glad that you put it together rather than having a pre-made piece.
The hat seems a little small, I think it could have been a little bigger-even one "pixel" might have made it seem better scaled.
I do plan on seeing how this fits in with my winter village-It might be a nice add in piece for it. I don't see this as having a lot of play value-it's more of a display piece. "

" I love the small seasonal kits that Lego has been putting out and this one is no different. The bat is well thought out, has several moving parts, including wings that you can "flap." The feet and ears are also adjustable. I really like the slight hint of pink in the ears and the teeth.
The pumpkin is a nice little add on for the bat. I wouldn't mind seeing it a little rounder looking (it has 4 distinct sides) and the "stem" lego kind of fades into the top of it. Overall, though, it looks like a pumpkin and looks nice sitting next to the bat.
I'd definitely recommend this kit, especially if you're looking for a nice, little decoration for Halloween. "

Nice car!
" When I first saw this, I knew I had to get it! Luckily I was able to get it early being a VIP member. I'm not a huge car collector, but this was unique enough that I felt it'd fit in just fine with the ones I already have.
It's a well designed car. I only had one thing I'd really change and that is the roof, it's a bit flimsy and it broke the first time I installed it on the car. The second time, I was a lot more gentle and it was fine. There are a lot of "moving" parts. Doors open, hood opens, trunk opens plus has a hinged door hiding the spare tire. The picnic supplies fit quite well in the trunk. Love the details like the stick shift and the side mirrors.
I also love that you can personalize the license plates-they give you 4 or 5 choices to pick from.
Cons: The smell. I opened the box and the whole time I was putting it together there was a very funky smell. Also, the cover and first 4 pages of the 2nd instruction booklet were blurry. It made it semi-difficult to read.
The box says "expert" build but I think that might be giving it a little too much credit. I really didn't have problems building this, didn't see any parts that were too difficult-maybe a couple spots where it's hard to see exactly where something is placed, but it's not a complicated build. I wouldn't say this is beginner level, but I would put it at expert either.
Overall, a very nice kit and seems to be designed to be played with! "

Who Ya Gonna Call?
" Let's be honest, the main buyer of this kit is going to be someone who grew up with the movie, Ghostbusters. And when finished, the car does look like the one in the movie. The mini-figs look pretty close to the actors as well.
The car also has a nice weight to it when finished and I think the proton packs are very nicely put together as well.
That being said, there are a few things that would have put this kit into the 4 star or 5 star category for me. A simple one: no ghosts in the kit. If you want this to be a functional, playable set, ghosts would be needed. You can't buy them (as far as I could tell) from pick-a-brick, so you're going to need to buy a full size kit you don't want just for the ghosts to be able to play with this. Even just one would have worked for me.
Secondly, the four mini-figs and their proton packs do not fit inside the car all at once. I do like that the set comes with a little display stand for them, but if you're going to actually play with this or set it up on display, you probably want the option to put the guys in the car at the same time.
Finally, the last big thing I noted was the instructions. It's nice that they are printed in a nicer format than most Lego sets, but when building, it's hard to use them as they don't lay flat without help. Also, even with clean hands, there were fingerprints all over the pages by the time I was done building-the paper is way too glossy. I shouldn't have to be afraid of touching the instructions. And last but not least, it is VERY hard to distinguish between black, light grey, silver, clear grey and dark grey. Not a new issue (some of the Star Wars instructions are impossible), but one that should have been taken care of a long time ago. Plus, the pages are all black, so you get black on black and trying to figure out which is which--well, it takes a lot longer than it should!
I do like the box it comes with (it's similar to the Delorean one) which makes it easy to store the instructions and extra pieces without worrying about them getting lost.
Overall, this set is pretty average in my eyes. I like how it looks overall, but there are some serious problems with it if you bought it to actually play with. I also kind of feel like these issues would have been easily corrected if they really thought about the customer and what they would be doing with the set. "
