Best 'speeder' yet!
" I've got three version of Luke's landspeeder and this set is, by far, the best. It's the best looking, the most detailed and it comes with five minifigures (sorry, I do NOT count the sentry droid!).
As usual, the price point is a bit steep for my liking but, it doesn't matter...it's a good set. Buy it before it disappears.

Great truck set
" A MUCH better size than the 'heavy hauler' truck set. Doesn't seem so 'out of place' in your LEGO City.
One thing to be careful of...when applying the stickers to the side of the truck, line them all up and apply the stickers to all of the sides at the same time, making sure that all of the stickers 'line up' properly, THEN continue with the building process. It'll make the finished set much more attractive. "

Great set
" One of my favourite 'Construction' sets. Not sure WHY exactly...it just has that certain 'something' that makes it a very fun set and it's a great addition to my construction site. A great 'big brother' to the mini-digger set. "

A good City 'battle pack'
" Knock two bucks off the price and I'd even call it 'great'.
Personally, I love the 'boom box'. Sure, in this age of iPods and other MP3 players, it may seem outdated but, I think it's pretty cool.
LEGO needs to decide on street sign colours and stick with it though. Some signs are on white backgrounds with white poles, others are grey w/grey...very annoying. Decide on a colour scheme and stick with it, please. "

Every town needs a street vendor
" Sure, every town needs a street vendor...but CHICKEN LEGS? (or turkey leg, if you prefer)
I don't understand the choice behind that.
I swapped out the bird leg with the hot dogs from 'Fire Brigade'. Makes far more sense, since I see hot dog vendors all over the place here and have YET to see even ONE chicken/turkey leg vendor.
Also...the 'cart' should be on wheels. Street vendors are mobile and this model should reflect that. With a little more thought, this could have been a much better 'impulse' set. "

Cool but pricey
" A bit expensive for such a small set...but, it's kinda cool, so I won't complain too much.
I like these kinds of sets...no 'civil servants'...no 'big trucks' that clog up your LEGO streets...just a regular Joe with his car and some scenic accessories...just what a collector needs to 'flesh out' their LEGO city/town/village.
I wouldn't object to more sets like this. "

It's okay
" 'Okay'.
Not 'great'. Not even 'good'. Just 'okay'.
Good concept but, poorly executed, in my opinion.
Too many stickers and not enough detail. Shops are not deep enough and really, are nothing more than two walls and some windows.
It's a shame, really...it's a good idea for a set (much like the old Main Street) but, not pulled off with any real substance.
I do like the bus though. The one 'bright spot' in the set.

Very cool
" Some great stuff in this year's Advent Calendar. No, I'm not going to tell you what it is...that would spoil the surprise.
Suffice to say, it's nice to see more 'winter related' stuff in the advent calendar, considering the time of year it comes out, etc.
I have to say though, I'm a little tired of having ONLY 'City' themed advent calendars here in North America. Last year, other countries had a Castle themed calendar and this year, they've got a Pirates themed calendar...but, here in North America, we get stuck with plain old 'City' yet again.
Boring!
Variety is the spice of life, LEGO! Let's mix it up a bit!

Perfect City starter set
" A little pricey for a starter set, sure...but...it's a dandy!
It looks great, has lots of pieces and just draws the eye as it sits there on a table, shelf, or sitting at the corner of Main St. in your own LEGO town.
Only two complaints about this set:
1) The complete lack of interior detail. When compared to 'Green Grocer' and 'Fire Brigade', this building is definitely lacking.
2) It's shorter than 'Green Grocer'. Sorry but, that's just not right. This is a HOTEL. It says so right there on the sign. An extra 'middle floor' should be made available as an expansion pack, so builders can add additional height to the buildings, without having to fork over another $200CDN for one floor.
