Great value!
" Okay, so it doesn't come with a lot of bricks. So what? You get TEN minifigs for $30CDN!
Compare that to the Pirates battle pack, where you only get FIVE minifigs for $20CDN!
Sure, this 'only' has figures and their weapons...no parrot, monkey, or treasure chest, but really, who cares? This set is PERFECT for 'troop building'. If you have the other sets in the Pirates line, or even a few of them, you most likely have all of those 'accessories' anyway!

Very scenic
" Okay, I admit it...I'm a sucker for the 'holiday' stuff. Be it the advent calendars, the holiday train...whatever. I like them.
When I saw this set, I was immediately hooked. It's very scenic, very nostalgic and has some great ideas incorporated into it. Also, as with most of the LEGO holiday-themed sets, it's quite eye-catching.
A couple of complaints though:
1) The Christmas tree is too bare...another string of 'lights' would have been nice.
2) Not enough interior detail (okay, so I've been spoiled lately by 'Town Plan', 'Green Grocer', 'Fire Brigade', etc and I've come to expect such things).
3) Small plates used for the various 'scenic elements', instead of a large white baseplate. Not only would a white baseplate tie this whole vignette together better, they would also be quite handy for all of the Star Wars LEGO 'Hoth' sets.
4) Having lights for the store windows, instead of 'upstairs' would have been preferable, since that sort of focused lighting would better represent the 'window displays' that are so common around the Christmas holiday.
Other than those few minor points, I really like the set and I hope that LEGO considers more 'holiday-themed' sets in the future...like perhaps a 'haunted house' for Halloween? "

" I was wondering what the next building in this line was going to be and I have to say, I'm VERY pleasantly surprised!
This set looks FANTASTIC! As a kid, I was around firehalls a LOT, including a bunch of 'vintage' ones and this set caputres the look and feel of them beautifully.
I may just have to get a couple of these sets. LOL "

Best Castle set EVER!
" When I first saw advance pics of this set, I just about fainted. Then, I thought that there was NO WAY it could be as good as it looked. Then I bought it as soon as it came out. I've waited until now to review the set, because I thought the 'novelty' would wear off after a couple of months and I'd see this set in a different light. Well, that hasn't happened. It's STILL great! I won't bore you with repeating all that has been said already about how fantastic this set is, instead, I'll just say this: Medieval Market Village is the "Green Grocer" of the Castle line, IMO. I honestly thought that there was NO WAY that LEGO would ever manage to insert a set into the Castle theme that would bowl me over as much as "Green Grocer" did for the City theme. I stand corrected. This is what the Castle theme SHOULD BE, IMO. It is FANTASTIC. I've been collecting 'Castle' since the theme was first introduced and I've never been so excited about any of the sets as I have been about this one. Buy it! Buy several! Write to LEGO and BEG THEM to make more sets like this!

Hmm...
" I don't know WHY but, there's just something I don't like about this set. It might be due to the scale of the vehicle, or something else that I just can't put my finger on...
Anyway...it's a good addition to any seaport setup and fairly good value for the money...just be warned, it's bigger than it looks in the pics!

" It's an okay set but, that's about it. It lacks the 'feel' of the older LEGO service station sets. Maybe that's because of the 'minimalist' aspect of this set, I don't know but, I wasn't terribly impressed.
A good 'starter set' for a junior builder but, that's about it.
Anyone who wants a truly decent service station set, should pick up the 'Town Plan' set. "

Great set!
" As with Green Grocer and Cafe Corner, the cost of this set actually caused me physical pain but, aside from that, this is a FANTASTIC set and I'm amazed that there hasn't been more 'buzz' about it.
The 'weakest element' is probably City Hall...not a lot of detail overall but, what there IS, looks great. The theatre is fantastic...great design and the service station is, IMO, far superior to the one currently available in the 'city' line.
