ARRRRRRRRRRR!
" My 7 year old son received this set for Christmas and he asked me to help him assemble it so I decided that I would review it as well. It came together in just about an hour and the instructions were very easy to follow. My son assembled the micro manager by himself with minimal help from me and it looks great. It is also very sturdy and stands up well on its own. I assembled the Metalbeard figure (at my son's insistence) because this part of the build was much more intricate, with smaller pieces and tiny details. It came together much easier than I thought it would, taking about a half hour to complete, and all of the elements fit and hold together very well. The cannons even shoot! It has been some time since I've encountered a set with cannons and once upon a time, Lego made non-firing cannons (probably for safety reasons). It is good to see that they've since rescinded that decision. My only complaint is that the treasure chest in his chest does not stay closed very well. The sausage and the bone within could potentially fall out, but that is my only complaint. Despite the peg leg, the figure stands well on its own and is quite posable. It looks amazing, and with the mini figures included, the price seems about right. A great representation of the character from the movie and a great addition to the line of sets from the movie. Enjoy, and happy building! "

About What I Exo-pected...
" I was so, so excited when I saw this set, so disappointed when it sold out, and so, so excited again when it came back in stock and I was able to snag one. The build went smoothly and the directions were easy to follow. It was, however, extremely intricate with many, many small pieces. One plus, for those who read my reviews and know my stance on stickers, there were none!
The turtle and the exo suit look amazing! I can not stress that enough. This is a spectacular looking set, which was a large contributing factor in my desire to purchase the set. I was, however, concerned about the intricacies of assembly and how well it would stay together. THAT is where the set lost points. I love, love, love the look of the set, but it feels so darn flimsy that I was afraid to position it when done to stabilize it. Several pieces fell off when I eventually tried (and during the build) and although they were easy to put back in place, the desire to handle the exo suit has dwindled. I don't want to touch it to show it off. I don't want to move it from my shelf. I don't want to even breathe on it. There is NO way this could be played with. Granted, it is recommended for ages 12+ so there are probably not a lot of folks out there playing with it anyway.
I want to like this set. I want to give it an excellent rating, but I can not. As awesome as it is, it has some shortcomings and I would be negligent in my duties as a reviewer to ignore those in favor of my love of it. I do not regret buying it, and I am relatively satisfied with the purchase. Bottom line... it is a beautiful set, but it is flimsy! Consider yourself warned. Enjoy, and happy building! "

It's Heart to Pass This One Up
" Quick and easy assembly with clear instructions, the Valentine's Day Dinner is a sure win. The price is right for the amount of mini figures and pieces and comes together into a solid little model. Like most of the other seasonal sets like this, it stands well alone by itself, comes with lots of little bits, like the wine glasses, bottles, flowers and desserts, and looks great when assembled. It reminds me a bit of the Parisian Restaurant, as there was a figure proposing to his girlfriend in that set as well, so I would have liked to see a variation in theme, but despite that this set is really cute and well worth it. Enjoy, and happy building! "

Let the Invasion Begin
" My 7 year old son is currently playing Lego Batman 3 so he is acquainting himself with several new characters he does not know from the DC universe. When he saw Darkseid, Hawkman, and Green Arrow, all new characters he had played but never seen, he used some Christmas money to buy it and I helped him assemble it.
Darkseid's glider was simple to build and assembled quickly and easily. My son did this part by himself while I watched, only having to assist one time. The only part he did not like about it was how the platform upon which Darkseid stands falls backwards if his hands are not secured around the handles. This is a feature designed to allow him to fall off when "hit" by a missile, but it did not seem all that necessary. Kids will find a way to knock their figures down without assistance.
The jet, on the other hand, was much more complex and I assembled most of it for my son due to the complexity and intricacies involved. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the jet looks brilliant when complete. There are a few stickers but they were easy to place. Besides stickers (which I hate) our only complaint was the device that was supposed to launch the new "flying" Superman out of the back of the jet. Quite frankly, it doesn't work very well. We tried it several times with mixed results. Sometimes he would fly okay and others he would flop out awkwardly. In the end, my son gave up trying to get it to work.
Overall, this is a great looking set, despite a few minor flaws and the price seems correct for the size, number of pieces and mini figures you get. A good addition to the DC series. Enjoy and happy building! "

Riddle Me This...
" Okay. First, this set was a gift for my son, but I helped him build it, so I'm reviewing it. I did not have high hopes for this set when I started building because the Riddler's drag car is about the flimsiest, most disappointing vehicle I have ever had the misfortune to help construct. It is incredibly thin and hardly seems like more than a few pieces thrown together. The money bags fall off easily and the fin on the back is on a swivel and spins out of alignment all the time. The fin and the money bags could have been secured much better and the body beefed up a little. I realize that a dragster is supposed to be light, but this is ridiculous. There is a bomb that breaks off when the car does a wheelie, and while this is a pretty cool feature, holding the car in such a way that it can do a wheelie often times knocks off the money bags or dislodges the fin, so while it is a nice idea, if falls flat.
The Batmobile on the other hand helps to redeem the set a little. It is a nice new build for the Batmobile and while there certainly aren't any fancy new frills worth mentioning, it is a solid build. There are two hidden missiles that rise up out of the back and some gold elements that really stand out against the black bricks. The one complaint my son had (and I share) is that the orange cockpit glass that covers Batman is not hinged in any way and has to be removed each time you want to put Batman in or out of the vehicle. It is not a huge deal, but it detracts from the overall aesthetic when you have to remove a part that everyone knows should be attached.
He did get some fun play out of it with the Flash, Riddler, and Batman mini figures, but it seemed a bit overpriced, specifically due to the flimsy dragster. I would recommend it, but only because of the mini figures and because of the Batmobile. Don't get me wrong. It's not a terrible set, but not a great one either. Really just average. "

Beautiful Build
" I received the Trevi Fountain set as a Christmas present and I am incredibly pleased with it. The build came together in about 3 and a half hours and the instructions were easy to follow. The build itself was very intricate, as are most of the larger architecture sets, because of all of the small pieces. However, as per Lego's suggestion, I separated the pieces by color and the task of sorting through all 731 pieces became much less daunting. Some parts of the build became a little repetitive but it was all worth it when the building finally came together. The build actually started with the base and water, which included many small bits, but the instructions did a very good job of leading me through it with minimal confusion. The main building came next, which was where it became repetitive, and finished with the rocks and the horses. If I have any complaints, it would be with the rocks and horses. This part of the build, as some other reviewers have pointed out, seemed a little flimsy, especially the horses, which fell apart several times as I tried to put them together. It tries to pack as much detail in as it can and still stay true to the scale and sacrifices some integrity to do so, which, in this case, is entirely forgivable. The final result is spectacular. I love this set and it looks great of my shelf next to the Farnsworth House and Falling Water. Enjoy and happy building! "

So much fun, such great characters!
" My son (age 7) received this set for Christmas and we built it together in about an hour and a half. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the final result looks wonderful. All of the parts that the Hulk is supposed to smash come together easily and reassemble easily as well after he "smashes" them. And speaking of the Hulk, this set is far better than the last set in which to get the Hulk. Not only is it cheaper, but you get better, exclusive mini figures. My son really loves Modok and Falcon. After having played as Modok in the Lego Marvel Superheroes video game he went crazy when he saw that there was a mini figure available. If there are any drawbacks, I would have to list stickers as one. I personally do not like them (since many have peeled off some of my older sets), but there are only a few so it's not that big of a deal. All in all, a truly enjoyable set and a must get for Marvel fans. "

Why Didn't I Review This Sooner?
" I have had this set since it came out, and I guess I completely forgot to review it, which, in case you've skipped over the other glowing reviews, would be a crime. This is the newest and shiniest jewel in the Creator series, and despite a few stickers, it is absolutely amazing. The details are immaculate, varied, and numerous, from the kitchen to the outdoor dining area, to the loft apartment and all of the details within. You really appreciate them when you're building it, which took about 6 hours. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and everything came together pretty easily. There are plenty of mini figures and the possibilities for play are endless, although, truth be told, it is a little difficult to play in the kitchen (at least with my big ol' hands) because of all the tiny details crammed in there. Such a unique and colorful set, it truly stands out from the other sets, and is a welcome addition to my Lego city and hopefully to yours as well. Enjoy, and happy building! "

Do you want to...
" I love these little holiday sets! They are beautiful little displays, for cheap, and come together quickly and easily. The snowman assembled quickly (in about 20 minutes) and looks great next to the turkey and reindeer. They're great starter kits for kids graduating from Duplo bricks to regular Lego bricks and fun for the whole family to assemble. Snatch these holiday sets up while you can and enjoy! "
