"In around two hours I assembled the bugs and mech which, I must say, is pretty impressive. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the bugs and mechs look great. The bugs are different (I was afraid they'd be simple clones of each other but they are each unique) and each comes with a capture pod. The mech is, of course, the focal point and looks great both with and without the detachable ship. Some reviewers have complained that it is difficult to get the mech to stand but I have mine on display and once I found a sturdy stance, which didn't take too much time, it has stayed up. The only negative points I have are flick missiles and stickers, both of which I don't much care for, which is why I dinged it one star. Overall, this really is a nice, visually appealing set with lots of possibilities for play. Enjoy!"
"I received this set as a present and it was my first foray into the series. The instructions were straightforward and easy to follow and construction took about 5 hours total to complete, although, I was by no means rushing through it. The mini figures are great, as are the tower and centipede-monster thing (sorry, I'm not sure what to call it). Both assembled quickly and easily. The titan crawler/ship is of course the focal point and it is truly awesome to behold. Assembly was not has difficult as I had initially believed. The two vehicles hold together very well and separate easily for play. I was worried that prying the ship off the back of the crawler would put stress on the other bricks and cause it to fall apart but that is not the case. There are lots of nice, neat little details that add visually to the set, but if I had to list any negative things, it would be the stickers (I HATE them so much...) and flick missiles, however, there are two spring loaded launching missiles hidden under the ship in the crawler which can be fired when the ship is detached. Overall, a nice addition to my Lego collection, if maybe a slightly bit pricey. Enjoy!"
"The price is right and you get so many rare, unique elements that this is totally worth the buy. The table is kind of bland, but it's all about what's on it. The turkey, the pie, the sausages... great, great, great. My six year old son helped me build the set and he loved setting it out to display it for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. What's great is that you can add more guests/food elements if you want and make it all your own. Don't wait. Buy it now, and enjoy!"
"I read the other reviews and I can understand how people can be upset because they've never seen anything like this around winter time, however, I am not one of those people. This set reminds me of the open air German market that they have in Chicago every December. It is called Christkindlmarket, and this set replicates the feel of poring over handmade crafts while drinking spiced cider and eating wienerschnitzel.
The stands are all great. Each is unique in shape and design and comes with lots of little bits to love, like the food and candy pieces. The bench and lamp post are average and run of the mill for the winter sets. All of these elements were very easy to assemble. The carousel is, however, the centerpiece and does not disappoint or fail to draw the eye. Construction was a little intricate, but not very difficult, and the instructions were very clear. It also operates very smoothly and feels like it could rotate without problem for a long time. The horses even rock and move, which I did not expect and was a nice surprise. There are a few stickers but they were easy to place and look great.
All in all, this is a wonderful set, well worth the price and a perfect addition to the winter line. Don't let the negative reviews influence your decision This truly is a great set. Enjoy, and happy holidays!"
"Both of my children (ages 3 and 6) love LEGOs and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so when they saw the sets in this series they, of course, wanted them. This set is the first purchase I've made and the kids were very excited. They love the Jake figure, his sword and the boat, and especially the gold doubloon (just like in the show!). They were a little disappointed that Skully was a brick and not an actual figure, (which is why I dinged the play experience rating) but overall they really like the set and are looking forward to getting the other sets in the series. Definitely a hit with the fans of the show, and they hope to see more, maybe with that sneaky snook Captain Hook!"
"This is my second purchase in The Lone Ranger line and the Silver Mine is one of my favorite sets in recent memory. The construction was straightforward and took about two and a half hours. The instructions were clear, however, there is a minor mistake in book one of the instructions, but so long as you pay attention to how many and which pieces you are supposed to place per step, it shouldn't throw you off. On a positive note, there are huge possibilities for play, with the dropping boulder, trap door, slide into the mine cart, exploding walls, bucket crane, and secret waterfall entrance, as well as the bottle and tools, barrels and lanterns. There are tons of little details and the landscape is top notch. There are only three stickers, which is a huge plus, but if I had to list one negative point, it would be the stove, which feels a bit flimsy, but that is a relatively minor point and easily overlooked. Overall, a great set, for play or display."
"My 6 year old son received this set for his birthday and I'm actually a little jealous. The Captain America figure is highly detailed and looks amazing. His motorcycle is pretty simplistic and assembled easily. The best feature, however, is that it has a piece to hold Cap's shield while he's riding it. The sky sled also assembled easily as did the (I don't know what to call it) missile launcher, and despite the fact that there were stickers (I hate stickers), they went on pretty easily and look great. Overall, you get three different, highly detailed minifigures, two vehicles, and a missile launcher for not a lot of money. A great little set to get an Avengers fan started."
"My 6 year old son received this set for his birthday and he is a big fan of the new show. He loved all of the minifigures, especially Fishface, and was really excited that he got two vehicles out of the set. Fishface's jet ski was a simple build, and launches canisters of ooze. The launching device did fall apart a couple times but was easily put back together. Raphael's speeder was a bit more difficult to build but has stayed together well and is pretty stable for being a trike setup. I'm not a huge fan of stickers or flick missiles and this set has them both, but my son doesn't mind the flick missiles and loves the set."
"First of all, I have not seen TLR on the big screen. I am a fan, however, of western style sets and this one packs in a lot for a little. Both the bank and the sheriff's office/jail have small touches that make them great for play, including the exploding safe, dropping chandelier, exploding jail cell, and FIRING cannon (I know Lego went through a period there where the cannons would NOT fire). The inclusion of five minifigures was also nice for the price and really give it a wonderful western feel. If you've read my other reviews, you know that I hate stickers, and this set has them, although not too terribly many, but if there has to be a negative point, it is those darn stickers. Otherwise, this is a wonderful set and a great addition to the Lego line."
"In around 5 hours, I assembled one of the most extraordinary sets ever. This is a perfect addition to the Creator series and looks fantastic. I saw the finished product in the Lego store and thought how wonderful it would look with the other sets in the series attached and when I got it home, I was not disappointed. The instructions were very clear and detailed (although the gold elements sometimes appear orange in the instructions) and assembly went very smoothly. There were a few stickers (which I hate) but they were easy to place and look great. What I love best, like with the other sets, are the tiny details put into everything, like the refreshment stand, the ticket counter, the stars on the sidewalk, the movie posters, and others that you don't see pictures of on the website (like the whole second floor) including the seats and projector and movie screen. I know some folks have complained about the limousine looking cheap but it really does fit the motif and, for me, didn't detract from the look at all. A great addition, although Lego seems stuck on that $150 price tag. Enjoy!"
