"Even after I finished the instructions, I can't stop building/modifying this set. In fact, in between the time I made the photos and writing the review, I've spent about 45 more minutes modifying Jasper's market. Every time I look at it, I see more things I want to do, so the play keeps going.
That being said, the set is fragile and the side buildings are hard to get into. I have a hard time manipulating anything without knocking off parts. (tree branches, swap grass, Yang statue, temple rail, etc), so I have a hard time imagining someone being able to pretend-play with the figures and set without constantly knocking parts off.
There an many nifty details in the set that I hope are plot points in the next television season of Ninjago.
Aside from the figures and frosted windows/panels, all the graphics are stickers. Fifteen stickers total. I don't care for stickers because i don't like putting them on, and they never wear or age well. I would love it if translations were included for all the Japanese writing on the graphics. I can't imagine it would be much more expensive to include that on the sticker sheet or on the instructions, or maybe include a QR code to a website to accommodate translations into multiple languages.
In addition to the instructions, the book contains ten pages of interesting lore/content repeated in three different languages. (so there is/was plenty of room to include information about the writing on the graphics)
Color matching for additional building has been a challenge--Especially the blue walls of the smithy. All in all, living long enough to have bricks in older colors that don't quite match the new colors is a great problem to have. Three shades of light blue, not so much."

LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens PLAYSTATION® 4 Video Game – Deluxe Edition
LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens PLAYSTATION® 4 Video Game – Deluxe Edition
"Downloadable content is not immediately playable--you must find/earn a particular number of gold bricks before chapters of the content unlocks. It is odd that customers can't immediately play content they've paid for.
Likewise with character packs. You are restricted to particular characters in the hub/adventure worlds until you complete all story levels, so can't use purchased characters until late in the game.
I got the Deluxe Edition with the season pass, but it seems there is content that I can't access even though I have more than half the gold bricks. It is unclear to me if the content is not included in the season pass, or hasn't been released yet. Information on DLC and the season pass is incredibly vague.
The volume levels are vexing. Many times it is difficult to hear what NPCs in your party are saying, and there is beautiful subtle music, then without warning there are loud effects and horribly loud music. I dread getting the "True Jedi" status in each level because the sound is crazy loud and jarring. The wildly inconsistent volume detracts from the enjoyment of the game.
I'm not able to find all of the bricks and missions in adventure worlds, and find the maps confusing. There is no legend or color coding to indicate what map icons are what, and in some cases there doesn't appear to be a mission or brick where the map indicates. Tt:Please consider using the same color coding on the maps that is used on the status screen/level select. Fore example, if the scavenger mission plate on the level select screen is orange, please also make the map icons orange.
It is difficult to find characters on the character select screen. It seems they are separated into groups, then arranged alphabetically within the groups, but the groups are not visually separated so it is difficult to figure out where they begin and end. It is also a big guessing game to figure out which group a character will be in. Tt:Please create visual breaks between groups and consider labeling the groups. I would also love an options page where I could choose my favorite character for each ability during free play. For example, a options screen with abilities like agility, grapple, force, light saber, etc in one column, then another column to select a default character for that ability. Then when the player goes into a Free Play version of the level, they get their favorite characters rather than random.
The music chosen from the film score and how it transitions during play is wonderful and adds a great deal to the feel during gameplay. Unfortunately it is often jarringly loud.
I usually wait 6-9 months for LEGO Group games to go on sale, and feel I should have waited this time too."
"This is a fun little set to put together and has neat mini figures to collect and share. I'd recommend getting extra copies to give as gifts.
The Green Goblin is much more cartoonish and fun than the full sized Green Goblin mini figure I already have. The Spiderman figure also has bold cartoonish graphics.
The chassis/wheels can easily be removed from the Green Goblin's vehicle to make it a more proper flyer. If you have a spare 2x4 or 2x3 blue plate it isn't difficult to to remove the chassis/wheels from Spiderman's helicopter."
"I bought this set for the array of baked goods and food items. I intend to add both the food and the kitchen parts to a cafe. I could also see using the parts in a holiday kitchen build.
"This set makes a great gift, and is a good way to collect and share mini figures.
The Batman head piece is black with olive skin printing and white + metallic goggle printing. He has a facial expression I haven't seen before, but unfortunately the difference in skin color would be noticeable in stop frame animation. This set includes the newer open face cowl with shorter ears and the cape fabric is softer than typical.
Catwoman's mask has been updated with more shapely closer spaced eyes. She also has a black head piece with lighter print."
"This set has plenty of printed parts and one of the new 2x4x2 semicircle panels in purple. I'm excited about using the new panel to build a Galactus mega figure similar to the Giant (Ant) Man figure in the Super Hero Airport Battle set.
The Lex Luthor figure is well done, but I would prefer his armor to be in regular green rather than lime green. Same with his mech parts, I would have preferred the designers to stick with the green/purple/gray palette in the "grown up" Luthor mech and not incorporate the lime green.
The light blue Batman uniform is also new for me."
"This set can be easily combined with the upper level of the Tiger Widow Island set of the same style to make a larger building. I look forward to incorporating the combined building into my Temple of Airjitzu.
I would have preferred to have a Gravis minifigure rather than Griffin Turner.
Unless you must have the Karlof and Griffin Turner mini figures, I'd recommend getting other ninjago sets that have much better play value for the price."
"I bought this set just for the rapid shooter/stud shooter. It is a nifty device, but now comes in MANY other sets with better builds and more play value.
Other than the rapid shooter, I didn't enjoy anything else about this set."
