Seriously Collectable
" I don't have the Vidiyo App and I have no intention of getting it because it just doesn't appeal to me. However, from a minifigure point of view these looked really interesting to me - and I am NOT a minifigure afficionado or even really a collector of them.
The problem I have with minifigures in blind packaging is that I can never tell what is in them (and that is when they were in plastic bags) so there was no chance with the new boxed versions. Luckily I came across a brand new box of 24 pieces in my local supermarket and took a risk on getting one whole side of the box. I got 12 out of 12 figures on my first pass which I will call a result.

" First of all I have not downloaded the Vidiyo App and I am actually not likely to. I know that is what they are designed for but I will admit I got these more for the Minifigures than for any interest in making music videos through the App. This does make the set seem expensive, however, if you are going to be using the Vidiyo App then you have to factor in the actual licensing costs to Universal and their Artists that make the App possible by uploading their back catalogue on there.
Beyond that the set is actually pretty fun.
The box itself is simple to build and even comes with a little storage box for those additional beatbit tiles. The lid for this storage compartment is decoratable and each instruction leaflet gives you three options for a design. Alternatively you could make your own from the pieces included (you do get a few spares) or raid your stash and do something truely unique. The box clips together firmly and the handle feels strongly attached. You could deifnitely use the box to transport your beatbits and minifigure around with no problems.
The minifigure itself is nicely detailed and has a front and back print to the torso. The accessories reflect the figure's Vidiyo role and you can easily store the figure with accessories in place in the Beat Box.
The 16 included beatbit tiles are well printed and come in a variety of colours so you can change them out based on the image on the front or their colour. Alternatively you can use them for what they are meant for - special actions within the App. Personally I think they will be a great resource for MOcs, particularly wall art or for using as book covers or vinyl album covers.

Get Outdoors
" I sat on the fence for a long time with this particular set but everyone I spoke to online that had built it said it was an incredible build and well worth it. So, I took the plunge and bought it and then it sat in my stash cupboard for about 3 months before I decided it was time to give the build a go.
This is a highly detailed set and I could not believe how much detailing there is in the little cabins that make up the Treehouse itself. Lego also managed to squeeze a toilet in there (although Lego do seem to have a slight toilet fixation) alongside bunk beds, a little astronomy outpost and loads of other little bits an pieces.
The tree itself is a good sturdy build but I did find that attaching the cabins to the branches was quite tricky and it did take me a little bit of time to align them properly and then to push them in to place - it takes more force than you would think. Even better there are colour codings above the doors for each cabin and these correspond to bricks used in the roof builds so even if you take all of them off either for play or display it is easy to see which roof goes where afterwards. Nice little touch.
I built mine with the green leaf option and I have to admit I probably won't change them out with the seasons.

Off Road
" This is definitely one for an experienced Technic builder - or for a novice that has access to an experienced builder. It is nicely complex and the engine build is genuinely absorbing and detailed. If working from the manual it can be difficult to deifne exactly where that small pin goes or how the sections you have just built slot together. If you have built a fair few large Technic sets this is much easier to figure out OR you can cross your fingers and hope the set comes with Instructions PLUS online. Unfortunately, this particular model doesn't have that feature so you are on your own but it is worth persevering with.
The detailing on the vehicle is great and it does look the business externally. I particularly like the storage solutions on the roof and even the side mounted ladder to reach them. The gearing system actually works (if you built it right!) and it does make this fun to actually play around with and although I doubt this would be purchased as a toy it is super strong and would handle some tough play.
Overall, this is one of the few builds I was genuinely upset to complete. I was having such a good time constructing this vehicle it was disappointing when it was finished but it does look great on my vehicles shelf. One of my favourite Technic builds due to the engine build (my favourite bit!)

" Primarily I collect the Ninjago range of Mechs and Dragons because they have a really good aesthetic. The vehicle range tends ot leave me a bit cold but these little speedsters caught my eye and they looked small enough to easily slot in to my display. This was a mistake, despite not being large they are certainly bigger than I anticipated and I did struggle squeezing them on to the Ninjago shelves.
Nicely sturdy when built they will stand up to quite a bit of play without collapsing on themselves. Although, one or two bits are more prone to dropping off when zooming the vehicle about - yes, I did have a couple of chases on the build table after making them.
Some fun build techniques on both vehicles that keep you enjoying the build experience. Be warned though, a lot of fiddly stickers are included so a bit of patience is needed to get them looking good on the finsihed vehicle. Well worth it though as they do escalate the look of both vehicles when attached.
