'We need a pilot!' 'We've got one!'
" I'm not convinced that the quadjumper was worthy of it's own set considering its on screen for only a few seconds before being blown up. However it completes any Jakku collection nicely.
The ship is a quick build but it's quite repetitive and without any challenging techniques. The finished model is very small - although in-scale when placed next to the Millennium Falcon. My issue lies with the design as the ship has many gaps which look strange, especially the gaps between the cockpit and the ship walls. Also the overuse of stud shooters is unnecessary: a quadjumper is a cargo transport not a fighter.
The movie accuracy is good with a nice colour scheme. Overall the quadjumper isn't much of a display piece unless paired with some other Jakku sets. The play features are alright. The mechanism to 'blow-up' the top engines works well and is quite fun.
The minifigures are wonderfully printed but not exclusive. Rey and Finn are both as they appear in other sets but are detailed and come with appropriate expressions. BB-8 rounds off the group of heroes. Unkar's thug has very detailed printing along with the First Order stormtrooper.
I would only recommend this set to people who either love quadjumpers or who want to complete their Force Awakens collections, and even then at a discounted price. Otherwise there are far better Lego Star Wars ships. "

'Where is Padmé? Is she safe?'
" The last time a Lego Darth Vader transformation set was released was in 2005 when Revenge of the Sith came to cinemas. This set is an amazing improvement!
It's an easy build with the most time consuming parts being the mechanisms for the play features. These work really well actually and it's very fun being able to slide Vader's mask onto his head. The room can be 'destroyed' with the push of some levers to replicate Vader's rage.
The movie accuracy is very good although I think the medical table is a bit oversized compared to a minifigure. The medical droids are excellent and really detailed. I like how one 'hovers' by being on a transparent piece. The inclusion of the lightsabers adds some extra playability even if this feature isn't accurate - Vader only gets his red lightsaber some time afterwards.
The minifigures are fantastic! Palpatine is typically evil looking with detailed printing on his robes - even the clasp of his cloak. The use of metallic grey to represent Anakin's cybernetic limbs works well and his expression matches that in the film: resigned to his fate. Finally of course is Vader with a cloth cloak and his helmet which comes in two halves.
This set really captures an iconic moment in the Star Wars universe and is a must-have for any fan. "

'We Don't Need That Scum!'
" Now although this set is based more around The Freemaker Adventures, it evokes The Empire Strikes Back through the minifigure selection.
The speeder bike is fun even if it is oversized. It's quite like an Endor speeder bike but with a blue and grey colour scheme along with more weaponry.
The best part of course are the bounty hunters! Bossk has a brilliant head mould and a good shade of yellow is used for his jumpsuit. IG-88 works very well with a battle droid body and printed head piece. Then there's the insectoid-eyed 4-LOM with very detailed printing and the use of metallic grey is perfect. Dengar is the most average and hasn't changed from his last release but rounds off the selection nicely.
A great battle pack of bounty hunters but it would have been nice to see Zuckuss included and blaster pistols instead of stud shooters. "

'Dispatch all squadrons!'
" Battle packs are easy, relatively cheap ways of expanding your Star Wars minifigure forces and you can get some amazing minifigures.
The speeder of this set sort of evokes the First Order snow speeder and has a sharp design. As it's not from the film it can't be compared for movie accuracy but it's nicely detailed. However does it need so many stud shooters? I thought speeders like this were transports not vehicles of mass destruction!
The main draw of this set is the minifigures. The flametrooper and stormtrooper are the same as in other sets but the riot control trooper now has a shield along with a baton. The shield is a good shape and really completes the minifigure. The stand out figure however is the officer. This is a First Order military officer - not a naval officer like Hux. That's why he has a different teal uniform. You do see Hux speak very briefly to a teal uniformed officer on the Starkiller, which I think was the inspiration for this minifigure.
This is a cool little set and definitely worth it for the minifigures but would Lego give them pistols instead of stud shooters. "

'What's a rathtar?'
" The entire rathtar sequence of The Force Awakens is both exciting and amusing because of Han's interactions with the two gangs. This set really captures a lot of detail and combines it with fun play features.
The build is interesting with some nice techniques, especially in designing the rathtars themselves. The use of Technic works wonderfully in portraying the halls of the Erevana and gives the whole set a mechanical feel. Once finished the three separate pieces can be displayed in any combination which I think is a brilliant feature.
The play aspect is very good. The main blast doors can be opened and closed as can the door of the rathtars cage - although the mechanisms can be a bit 'stiff' the first few times. A minifigure can be lowered below the floors so they can be underneath which is perfect for role-play with Finn or Rey minifigures.
The minifigures along with the rathtars are amazing! The rathtars have an accurate design and it's possible to place a minifigure in their mouths. Han and Chewie are both nicely printed and come with their respective weapons. Bala Tik is very detailed and the use of metallic grey works well for his outfit. The Guavian enforcers are particular favourites and their helmets are awesome. The detail on their dark red jumpsuits is incredible.
This is definitely one of the best Force Awakens sets available and I would highly recommend it for display or role play. The movie accuracy is excellent and the set is really detailed. However the price is far too high, so you may want to wait for a sale. "

'Do you think anyone's listening?'
" Rogue One's most dramatic and heartbreaking scenes all take place on Scarif. Nobody expected the Empire to occupy a tropical planet.
This set is a brilliant location set that is fun to build, great to display and has plenty of play features. The landing pad can be made to 'explode' by punching a mechanism and it works really well. Hidden underneath the pad are also a bunch of weapons that add playability. The addition of palm trees and tropical plants in muted colours enhances the movie accuracy whilst combining organic with the inorganic Imperial structure (which is basically the whole idea of the Empire's occupation of Scarif).
Just inside the doors are the Death Star plans which isn't like the film but necessary. The doors can open and close after bringing down the tower to the right which isn't the smoothest feature. I like how the master switch has been incorporated into the build as it's very important to the story.
The minifigures are awesome! The two Scarif Stormtroopers have detailed printing and their masks are an accurate shape. It would have been cool if one of them could have been made a captain by giving them leg pauldrons and the red rank on their arm. Cassian is in his Scarif outfit although I would have preferred him in his Imperial disguise. Jyn looks amazing in her disguise and one of her facial expressions is fierce determination which describes the character so well. Again it would have been even better if Lego could have opened the visor so you could see her eyes.
This set is brilliant and one of the best Rogue One sets available, although the price is steep for what you get. However a great buy in any sale. "

'I can see a lot better now!'
" There hasn't been a desert skiff since the last release of Jabba's sail barge and although the skiff itself has improved immensely I think the set is lacking overall.
The skiff's curves and angles have been recreated very well with an accurate colour scheme that goes well with the older sail barge. The use of transparent pieces underneath to make it appear hovering works nicely as it has done in previous sets. The retractable plank is an added bonus and is a feature that works smoothly, whilst adding a fun play element.
The sarlacc pit is a bit of a disappointment. The concept is great and the finished model is decent but the jaws only remain open when it's 'arm' is pulled upwards. I think the mechanism is quite constricting, especially from a display point of view. It would have been more fun if the 'arms' could have moved along with the mouth. Also the use of light grey bricks just don't work and detract from the sarlacc.
I think some more minifigures would have been fair. I think fans would prefer a disguised Lando or more of Jabba's guards. However that said this is the cheapest set at the moment in which you get Han with his new hair-piece that is far more scoundrel and roguish than the old one. Chewie is detailed and printed wonderfully. The weequay guard has excellent printing and his axe is an accurate weapon. Boba Fett is awesome with a minifigure based on his Return of the Jedi costume (which is very different from The Empire Strikes Back costume), with a green cape, and a different variation of colours on the armour.
All together this is a fun set but more minifigures would have been appreciated at this price point and the sarlacc pit isn't perfect. However if you want a new hairdo Han or an Episode VI Boba Fett then this is a must have! "

Scarif Stormtrooper
" The build-able figures line by Lego is a bit of a mix. Sometimes the figures are amazing and other times they're just average. This is one of the better figures.
The Scarif stormtrooper hasn't had as much retail attention compared to the Death Trooper, but the new helmet and unique colour scheme are very interesting. This figure is excellently detailed, even including battle damage and doesn't even use any stickers.
The build is similar to Technic, but is quick and easy yet results in a pose-able and sturdy figure. The helmet is a stand out being well proportioned and detailed. The hip pads don't work as well as the shoulder pauldron for the Death Trooper, but does add extra movie authenticity.
Altogether a great figure especially considering there are very few Scarif stormtroopers available. "

'She won't get a scratch.'
" A-Wing's are probably not as iconic as X-Wing's but one of them did destroy the Executor, so they're pretty famous. However, the main attraction of this set is Lando. When was the last time we had a Lando minifigure? A long time ago.
This is definitely the sleekest, best proportioned A-Wing yet and the dark red is a good colour choice. The build is unchallenging but there are some great techniques, especially for the engine and wings flaps. The landing gear is small, easily retractable but sturdy enough to hold the ship up. Lego have become very good at hiding the spring-loaded shooters, finally, and they're a fun play feature.
The addition of the service cart is similar to the one included with Poe's X-Wing and it adds a bit more substance to the set.
The minifigures are fantastic! Lando comes in his General's uniform with his signature cape which is good quality material. The face printing is excellent - either massive grin or smaller grin, and is the essence of Lando's personality. The A-Wing pilot is similar to the one seen in Return of the Jedi, but the green is a bit too bright, although the helmet is very detailed. The Rebel ground crewman finishes things off with detailed printing and even comes with a cup of caff (the Star Wars version of coffee).
This is a must have as a classic Star Wars ship and for the best minifigure of Lando Calrissian yet. The price tag could be better, so you might want to wait for VIP points or online discount. "

'Train the boy.'
" It's shocking to think that this lightsaber battle has never been attempted in Lego before, even though it introduced audiences to a brand new kind of lightsaber.
These small location sets are good value for money and offer a quick, easy build that's great for display or play.
It's an interesting build with some interesting techniques used to create the shape. The play features are fun - the 'laser' gate swings open and shut (like it turns on and off in the film) and Obi Wan can 'leap' out of the shaft when you hit the catapult lever.
The minifigures are possibly the best part of this set. Darth Maul is a standout with superb printing on his robes and face. Fans will be pleased to know that his head piece has 9 horns just as he has in the film. Qui-Gon Jinn is movie accurate and again has detailed printing. Obi Wan Kenobi isn't much different from previous versions but is good minifigure.
This is a great set for either re-enacting the scenes from The Phantom Menace or as a Prequels display piece. Either way locations are rare in Lego form and this set captures it really well. "
