"There must be something about baseplates that the Lego group doesn't like. I mean, there seems to be a lack of them in recents sets that's becoming an all too familiar trend. We saw it first with the King's Castle last year, where plates were preferred instead, and that continued this year with the two Creator homes, Log Cabin and Hillside house which where also the first two Creator homes that came without a baseplate. This set continues that trend - the difference this time however, being that with the previous sets, it didn't really affect the stability of the set. This time, I think that Lego may have erred and got it wrong. The two "halves" of this set are connected only by a bridge, and whilst it's not "flimsy" per se, it's not exactly stable either, and the addition of a blue baseplate here, not only for stability, but to simulate the ocean, would have been a welcome addition. In saying that, it's not a bad set - it's just that it could have been so much better.
Minifigures 5 in total - generally a good selection, but nothing remarkable about them. Just your standard Lego city figures. They come with some nice accessories, such as the flippers and tank for the diver, and the windsurfer comes with a newly designed torso but otherwise, it's nothing that will really leave you in awe. Average at best. 7/10
Build This set is comprised of a lot of large pieces and therefore the build is very simple and straightforward. It’s a good set for younger builders, but for more experienced Lego fans, this may be a set to miss if you’re looking for a challenge. I found the build a little boring due to the ease of it, although having said that, the target age group on the box does say 5-12, so I can’t really complain too much. 7/10
Design A very aesthetically pleasing set. Nice, bright colours and in general, excellent playability. The set comprises of a surf shop on top of which is a café complete with an outdoor dining area. Opposite is the lifeguard tower. The boat/dinghy sits 3 comfortably and also looks good, although to fit it under the bridge may be a little difficult. It will fit, but it’s a tight fit! 8/10
Pricing The piece to price ratio is pretty bad, but you have to consider that a high percentage of these pieces are large. Still I’d have to say that it’s at least 25% overpriced. 6/10
Problems This set really needs a baseplate. Without it, it’s just not stable enough and the bridge section will bend if you pick it up at only one end. In addition, I felt that some piers should have been added to allow boats to dock. You may also find that the bridge is too low, and that most Lego boats will not fit under it.
Overall it’s a good fun set for younger builders. For collectors or AFOL, it’s probably not a set that you would enjoy given the ease of the construction, nor is it one that will become a “classic” in years to come. 7/10."
"In my previous review, I wrote that the new Millennium Falcon set could well be the Lego set of the year, with the Pet Shop and Diagon Alley being the two main challenges for this crown. Little did I know that a fourth candidate, in the form of the Republic Frigate would emerge soon after. So the question presents itself - which is better - RF, or MF?
A lot will depend on preferences. Star Wars purists would not doubt opt for the MF given their fondness for the Original Trilogy. However, in terms of design and even build, I would have to say that I actually enjoyed this set more, even though I too prefer the Original Trilogy over the Clone Wars. Comparisons will inevitably also be drawn to the 2007 Republic Cruiser set (7665), but on first impressions, I have no doubt that this set is a much improved version.
Minifigures 5 in total - all rare and/or new. Yoda is the only one to have appeared previously (2009), with 2 new Jedi masters - Eeth Koth and Quinlan Vos - accompanied by the very first Wolfpack troopers. It's always exciting when you get new minifigures and in general, I'm quite happy with the selection here. Commander Wolfe and the trooper - similar to previous clone troopers except with a nice added shade of light blue. Commander Wolfe comes with standard commando gear, whilst the trooper comes with a jetpack.
Eeth Koth is a great addition but not entirely accurate when compared to the film character. He comes with a "rubberized" headpiece, but I have to say that I'm not overly impressed. Quinlan Vos on the other hand is probably more accurate that Eeth Koth, but his parts are also more common. All three Jedi come with green lightsabers, with the shade of green being darker than that of previous years (it actually looks green, as opposed to yellow).
Overall 8/10. I'm sorry, but Eeth Koth just doesn't cut it for me.
Build The parts come in 6 bags which makes the pieces easier to find. The build is very enjoyable and reasonably straightforward. I will say though that the stickers in this set are a real pain to place due to to size of most of them. The red deco that you see on the escape pod as well as the details on the rear engines are stickers and extremely difficult to place right. 9/10
Design Interesting. There's some great details which add significantly to the playability of this set - such as the escape pod - but there are also some inconsistencies where details are lacking. For example, there's no controls/console in the cockpit - so how's the pilot suppose to fly this thing? In addition, the two parts of the escape pod aren't attached together, and are more or less held in place by some technic parts. There are however clips within the escape pod which are useful for storing the guns of the troopers.
Overall though, I have to say that I think the design is great. Yes, the cockpit is small and only sits one. Same for the gunner's station at the back. But the interior details in both side compartments are just fantastic. In one, you have a storage area; this area can also sit 2-3 figures. In the other, you have some clips that will store 2 lightsabers, a hologram of Darth Sidious/Palpatine as well as s screen which acts as a type of control panal for the frigate. This compartment can also seat about 3 figures.
On top of this, there's a hidden handle that slides out from the top to allow you to carry the frigate, much like that used with the Clone Turbo Tank. The landing gear is retractable which is great, although I will say that the flick fire missile system in this set doesn't work particularly well.
It's an intelligent design and one does feel that a lot of thought and effort has been put into it. Two thumbs up! 9/10
Pricing Again a little on the expensive side - however, it is a good set and I do think that you will get your money's worth out of it. 8/10.
Problems Twofold. Firstly, the stickers. An absolute nightmare given the size of them. I do feel that for a set of this price, printed pieces should be the norm - if you mess up the placement, you mess up the appearance of the set. Secondly, the guns on the underside of the Frigate don't rotate. The ones on top do - so I was surprised to find that the ones underneath do not. Only a minor issue though.
So ultimately, which is better - the Frigate or the Falcon? Personally, I felt that the Frigate was a more enjoyable build and perhaps had a better design, but ironically given a choice between the two, I'd still go with the Falcon. Perhaps it's because I'm a fan of the movies rather than the cartoons, but I've always wanted a minifigure version of the Falcon and I can't say the same about the Frigate. Ultimately, they're both excellent sets and in the end, it comes down to personal preference. A 9/10 set."
"There have been many releases of the Millennium Falcon over the years - we had a midi-scale version in 2009, and this was preceded by the UCS version in 2007. This is on top of earlier releases, which may cause the casual observer to remark "not another Millennium Falcon!" Despite this however, it's prudent to remember that the last actual mini-figure version of the Falcon (excluding the UCS one, which let's face it, was way out of most people's budget) was released in 2004 (set 4504) - 7 years ago - and having missed out on that one, I, for one, have been eagerly awaiting the release of another similar version - and so, here it is. And the verdict? Just one word : magnificent.
Minifigures One glance and you realise that this version is based on episode IV - A New Hope as opposed to 4504 which was based on episode V. In all, you get 6 minifigures - including Chewbacca who is extremely rare and a major plus for the set. To summarise, what you see is pretty much what you get, apart from Luke and Leia who both have double-sided heads and hence, alternate expressions.
I have to say that I'm not sure why Vader has been included in this set - a would have thought the additions of C3-PO and R2-D2 would have been more appropriate if this were being true to the film. Overall though, a good selection given the rarity of some of these figures. 8/10.
Build The pieces come in numbered bags, (1-6 - although there are more than 6 bags) so finding the relevant pieces are made much easier. I have to say that this was a very enjoyable build. The base of the falcon is built first (bag 1). Once this is done, the interior details are added (bag 2), followed by the walls (bags 3 and 4). the top (bag 5) and finally the cockpit and front section (bag 6). I don't have the 2004 version, but on appearance, I suspect that the build could be very similar and so, the building experience may not be so enjoyable for those who do own set 4504.
There are some stickers that need to be added, which is a down side since it would not be unreasonable to expect printed bricks given the price of this set.
Overall, the build will take anywhere between 4-5 hours, but the final result is aesthetically pleasing and I would say a more accurate depiction of the falcon than 4504. 9/10
Design Again, this may be a little difficult to assess given that I suspect the design has been loosely based on 4504. However, since I can't make an accurate comparison given that I don't own 4504, I will have to assess the design based on the assumption that this is an original set.
I have to say that I love it. Yes, there are some "holes" in the falcon - predominantly between the walls and floor of the ship, and also between the plates that make up the "roof", but I really don't see how the designers could have done any better unless new moulds/pieces had been created. This aside however, it's very difficult to find fault. Playability is excellent - and attention to detail first class. All the details you see in the movie - the hyperdrive, smuggling compartment, chess board, lightsaber training area and "gunners stations" have all been included, and yet despite this, there's still plenty of room inside the falcon.
If there's one major flaw in the design, it would have to be the underside of the falcon - it's a little ugly - but that can be forgiven. 9/10
Pricing This set is expensive - very expensive. I have to say though that it is worth the price - this is an excellent build and one that will not disappoint. As an aside however, I will say this - if I had 4504, I would not have bought this set. Even after building this set, I still stand by that statement. Despite it's excellence, it's similarities to it's predecessor makes it hard to justify the cost if you already own the earlier set. 7/10
Problems Aside from the look of the underside of the falcon, the only other major gripe I have is the lack of retractable landing gear. To be perfectly honest, it looks clumsy.
In summary, this is an excellent set - and a great opportunity for those who missed out on 4504. I have absolutely no regrets about this set, which could be a real contender for "Lego set of the year". Of course, it's a little early to be making that judgement - I still have the Pet Shop and Diagon Alley to collect - so I guess time will tell. 9/10"
"As the title and a few others have said, this set is a great addition to Hogwarts Castle. Perhaps the best thing about it however, is that unlike the Ewok Attack set from Star Wars which needed Battle of Endor to complement it, this set actually stands up quite well in terms of playability on it's own. There's enough here to keep you occupied for hours on end, although admittedly, having the actual Hogwarts Castle does maximise it's play potential.
Minifigures A lot has been said about the repeat minifigures in this set - in particular, Harry, Lucius Malfoy and the Dementor, In all fairness however, I don't really see a problem here. Harry I think, is bound to be in all HP sets, whilst this is only the third set that Lucius has appeared in and the Dementor has only appeared in one other set. So Harry aside, these figures aren't exactly common. When you add to this 4 other rare or never-seen-before figures - Prof. Sprout (first ever!), Lupin, Neville and Goyle - I think that you've got a very good selection of characters. Prof. Sprout in particular is impressive - although I will admit that I'm reminded of Prof. McGonagall as the similarities between the two are clear. Neville has a newly designed torso (without tie) whilst Goyle provides another Slytherin character to accompany Malfoy. Overall, I'm happy with the selection here, although perhaps Prof. Tralawney may have been a suitable addition here, given the presence of the Astronomy Tower and the Divination room. 9/10
Build If you have Hogwarts castle, then it may be a sense of deja vu here although the open construction on the second floor of both towers provides something different. Both towers follow similar construction patterns which also means that you may feel that you're building the same thing twice (which in effect, you are). There's a nice mix of large and small pieces which make for a pleasant building experience. 8/10
Design Many people, myself included, have said that this is a good add on to last year's Hogwarts Castle (4842). It is - but be warned that it may look a little strange at first. The gray foundations on both towers of this set do make them seem a little out of place when incorporated with 4842 as it appears "raised" in contrast to the castle itself. This "raised" appearance is accentuated even more by the bridge, which comes to a complete stop at the towers. I know this is a minor detail, but it would have been nice if a couple of plates had been added so the bridge actually lead into the towers.
Both towers I'm glad to say are well detailed but their designs or more or less loosely based on 4842. The first, the astronomy tower depicts the "Room of Requirement" on the first floor, with Gryffindor colors (again), and the balcony from the actual film on the second floor. Above this is the divination classroom, complete with crystal ball.
The second tower is a little bare in comparison, with an empty first floor but our first ever classroom on the second. On the top is the Mirror of Erised - nothing really special here. 8/10
Pricing I've been generally quite happy with the pricing of HP sets, and this set continues that trend. I'd say that the price is more or less spot on. 8/10
Problems Not many really - unless you're very picky. I'd say that more could have been done with the empty first floor on the second tower - perhaps a Hufflepuff common room??? - I'm sure yellow and black are easy colors to make - and to be quite honest, I'm sick of Gryffindor colors. It would have been just as easy for Lego to used silver and blue tiles, or even yellow and black for the bunk beds in the Room of Requirement. Some variety - please?
In summary - a great set - with or without 4842 Hogwart's Castle. Highly recommended whether or not you're a HP fan. Good job Lego! 9/10"
"This is a nice set - it's not great, nor will it be memorable, but it is one that looks good and will keep younger children entertained. The main issue I think that most fans will have is the fact that this set is limited in terms of playability - because of it's size, it really works best as an "add on" to a larger set, namely 8038 Battle of Endor. On it's own, it does have some great action features but ultimately, one would get a little bored of it after a while.
Minifigures 3 in total - 2 Ewoks - absolutely fantastic and worth picking this set up for alone - plus a scout trooper which is another minifigure that is quite rare in the Lego universe. Overall, excellent. 9/10
Build Overall very straightforward and simple. The speeder is constructed in much the same way as previous speeders, whilst the tree has an enjoyable build, utilising it's fair share of large and small pieces. 8/10
Design Speeder : the speeder is very similar to those in the Battle of Endor - I don't have the latter set so I can't say for sure - but it seems from pictures of 8083 that the only difference is the piece above the controls. Otherwise, this speeder appears to be an exact replica.
Tree : absolutely brilliant! In the past, I've never been a fan of Lego constructed trees - the one in Medieval Market Village drove me nuts - but this one is an exception. It has a very smart design - it opens up at the back to allow an Ewok inside - and has several actions features including a flick fire missile, a falling log(s) function as well as the catapult on top and another piece (which is meant to represent another log) that moves in and out of the tree to knock the unsuspecting trooper off his speeder. Overall lots of fun and thumbs up for the designers. In addition, special mention to the two different colors of green used in the construction of the tree - it really adds to the overall appearance of this set! 9/10
Pricing A little expensive as has been the case of most Star Wars sets. Even though this is a good looking set, it doesn't really stand up well on it's own so $50Aud seems a little steep. 6/10
Problems Only one and I've already mentioned it. This set needs 8083 - otherwise, it's just a tree and a speeder - and it becomes boring after a while. I know this because I don't have 8083. In that sense, this set should really be bought to ADD ON to 8083, rather than as a play set on it's own.
Overall : very very good. An enjoyable build, smart design, excellent minifigures. Apart from better pricing (and 8083), what more could you want? 8/10"
"For those of you who are both familiar with and fans of the Cars movie, then this set is a definite must have. It is a little elementary given the target age group, but it's also a very well thought out set and one that continues the trend of excellence that we've all come to expect from the Lego Group.
Minifigures None but let's face it, we didn't really expect any did we? In some ways, this may discourage general buyers from this theme, given that the minifigures are a major attraction but the number of characters you get in this set nearly makes up for it. The down side of course is that you'd probably need to be a "Cars" fan to truly appreciate them.
Build Very, simple. Almost elementary in terms of building the Cars - the Cafe, Car Wash and Gas Station are a little more challenging with some "Technic" elements involved but still relatively easy. One good thing is the number of new pieces in this set that go towards the construction of the "cars" and the fact that these bricks are printed!! There are also a few stickers that need to be placed when you come to the building, but nothing that will cause too much concern. The parts come in 4 main bags - Bag 1 - McQueen, Mater and Flo Bag 2 - Sally, Filmore, Sarge Bag 3 - Gas station and Car Wash Bag 4 - Cafe Overall, the build isn't really challenging and may be a little boring for older builders. Having said that, it's a good build for those in the target age group (7-12) 7/10
Design Excellent. Lego couldn't have done a better done with the design of each Character. Each is extremely accurate and does the film justice. The person who designed this set truly deserves to be applauded. In addition, I'm not completely sure but I think there are some new colors that have been introduced in this theme, in particular, Sarge Flo and Filmore. Just brilliant! 9/10.
Pricing This set is actually very expensive in my country - but relatively cheap in the U.S. selling for less than half of what I'm expected to pay. From a U.S. perspective, I'd say that the price is very good - an 8/10 - but from and Australian point of view, the pricing gets a 4/10. I mean, I paid double, so it makes sense that the rating should halve, right?
Problems The main problem that I see with this set, and indeed with this theme, is that it would only really appeal to "Cars" fans and so, it's target audience is rather limited. There are some new pieces which is great, but a lot are printed which means that they can't be reused in any of your own creations. In fact, a lot of these bricks are restricted to being used within the "Cars" theme itself. In addition, I would have like to have seen Doc Hudson added to this set, but maybe he's been saved for a later set.......
Overall, this is a very good set but probably only "Cars" fans or children would be interested in it. It's an excellent set for children in fact, as it's tailor made to suit them, but for adults, you'd find the build uninspiring and probably get bored of this set rather quickly. I'd probably say that this is a selective buy - one that will light up the faces of children, but leave adults somewhat feeling a little empty. 7/10 overall."
"There must be something about Jedi Starfighter's that appeal to the Lego group. I mean, this is the fourth version of a Clone Wars Starfighter on last count, and even though each has been different, the differences have been only very minor in nature. This set does provide a good opportunity to pick up Mace Windu and the new tactical droid, but I'm afraid that it has little else going for it. It's not a bad set by any means - it's just that it doesn't really offer us anything new that we haven't seen before.
Minifigures Mace Windu and the new Tactical droid are the major pros for this set. The tactical droid in particular is very well designed and smart - in addition, you get 2 regular battle droids (nothing special here). Given that this version of Mace Windu only appears in one other set (8019), his appearance here is a major plus, although the design is nothing to get overly excited about. Overall, 7/10
Build Nothing overly complex here. The starfighter follows the same build as starfighters before it. The speeder and STAP vehicles are very simple as well and the overall build shouldn't take any more than 40 minutes. As far as I can tell, there aren't any new pieces in this set either, apart from those that make up the tactical droid. 7/10
Design It's hard to rate this since, the tactical droid speeder aside, the build of this set is more a less a rehash of old designs. The STAP looks eerily similar to the one found in the 2008 set 7675 whilst the Starfighter is more or less a modification of last year's Jedi Starfighter (set 8093). The speeder is really the only new vehicle and it's hard to not feel slightly let down given that it's nothing special. If these designs had not appeared in previous sets, I would have looked upon them favorably, but as much as I hate to say it, this set is largely a re-release of past sets with a few modifications here and there. And not all of them are good either - for example, the lightsaber needs to be taken apart and the handle and blade attached to separate clips. One good thing though is the missile system under the starfighter, which works very well. 6/10
Pricing I got this set from overseas - it was way overpriced in my country selling for $70 Aud - which let's face it is too much especially given the lack of originality in this set. Given that I got it at a much cheaper price however, I'm happy to give the pricing a score of 7/10.
Improvements The stickers for the Starfighter are again a real pain. Lego used to print these designs on - my 2002 Jedi Starfighter featuring Obi Wan sits on my shelf as proof of that. It would be nice if we could return to the days of the printed brick. In addition, I really wish that Lego would stop releasing what is more or less the same set over and over again - OK it's not the same, but adding/removing a few features from a fighter does not mean that it is a different design, nor does it make the set original.
In summary - this would be a good set if one had not seen anything like this before - the build and designs in all honesty are very good - but again, it's hard not to feel sightly cheated - I mean, I don't really want anymore Startfighters and in all seriousness, paying the asking price for this set just because you want Mace Windu and a tactical droid is quite simply ridiculous. It's really an 8/10 set, but because of the points I have raised, I'm only prepared to give this a 7/10."
"A classic scene from the second PotC movie "Dead Man's Chest" is captured with stunning detail in this set. I have to say that apart from the pricing (and the Queen Anne's Revenge), this latest licensed theme of Lego's has generally lived up to the hype that one has come to expect from a Lego product. The Mill is possibly the second best set in this theme, behind only the London Escape.
Minifigures I've said it once, I'll say it again. Lego have done a magnificent job with the minifigures in this theme and this set continues that trend. The Mill comes with 4 figures - Admiral Norrington, Will Turner, Jack Sparrow and Hadras, the first 3 all with alternate expressions (or double sided faces if you like). One thing that you've got to love is the new holster piece which allows Will and Norrington to sheath their cutlasses - just brilliant. All 4 figures are incredibly detailed and accurate when compared to the movie scene, with perhaps James Norrington being the best of the lot. I can't help it, I've got to give this one a 10/10!
Build The pieces come in 4 bags - the first three are used to build the figures and the actual building of the Mill itself, the fourth contains the parts for the spinning wheel.
The overall build is simple with the use of several large wall pieces in the construction. The build of the wheel however, is a little monotonous and it's construction is largely flat at first, then when all the pieces have been added, it's rotated around a central section to form the wheel. This is probably the most interesting and enjoyable part of the building process however as it's something different and also a first as far as this building technique is concerned (I think!). The wheel itself isn't attached onto the building - it simply sits on top and held in place by 4 sloped bricks (2 for each side). Overall, quite an enjoyable build - 8/10
Design Not a bad representation of the movie scene in terms of accuracy, in terms of playability, excellent. The designers have done a really good job here, especially with the design of the wheel. Not much more to say really, except to give it an 8/10
Pricing In terms of piece to price ratio, it's not great, especially if you live outside the U.S. In this respects, the London Escape was better value for money, although the design of this set was probably better. No doubt this set is still expensive for what you get, but that's to be expected as it's a licensed theme. 6/10
Overall, this is a very good set, only let down by the pricing. Cost aside however, it is a set that every Lego fan should aspire to attain - lots of fun to build, with endless hours of play to follow. 8/10.
Special mention must go to the round brick with Davy's Jone's heart printed on it!"
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bank & Money Transfer
Bank & Money Transfer
Overall:
4/5
Another special edition, another expensive set....
"There seems to be a recent influx of "Special Edition" sets into the Lego market this year, with marked up prices to boot. This set unfortunately continues that trend, although overall, the pros do outweigh the cons. A Lego bank has been long overdue and whilst this version may not necessarily "blow you away", it is a solid set that is sure to provide hours of fun for kids, and will integrate well into any Lego city for adults.
Minifigures Nothing special here - 4 figures including your standard policeman, and robber. The driver of the Bank truck is made up from previously released pieces (I think!) whilst the bank teller comes with a new hairpiece, which is the only new minifigure piece in this set. Overall, underwhelming - a 6/10.
Build The MC is your standard MC. Nothing special here.
The police car follows your standard build and is similar to previously released police vehicles. It is a little different in the sense that it's a station wagon, rather than your standard sedan/van.
The bank truck utilizes several large pieces for both the panels of the truck, as well as the roof. The cab is enclosed however unlike other cars in the Lego world. The interior of the truck is quite detailed and holds 2 portable safes as well as slots for 4 suitcases of money. The build is rather quick due to the number of large pieces involved, although the customary stickers (4) do take some time to place well.
The bank itself is probably the highlight of the set - however, it too uses several large pieces for the walls/windows and so the build is both quick and straightforward.
Overall, it's not a bad building experience, but due to the number of large pieces involved, it's not as enjoyable as it could be and so at best, I can only give it a 7/10.
Design The police wagon looks awkward and a little disproportionate. I have to say that of all the police vehicles released this year, this is probably the worst. It may have been better had Lego stuck to the traditional sedan, but this wagon design seems to have been an afterthought. There is no door at the back that station wagons have, and yet not enough space in the interior to really store or carry anything of significance. In addition, incorporating a clip into the design would have been nice so that the walkie talkie could have at least been attached.
The bank truck however, is great. I love the attention to detail in this vehicle, with the 4 slots for the suitcases as well as the storage compartment for the 2 safes. The design is a little similar to the Prisoner Transport, but not so similar that you feel you're building the same set.
The bank also has a nice design, but also a couple of flaws. It's well detailed on the inside, but a little small. In addition, the ATM machine is detachable from the wall of the bank, adding to the playability of this set. The way that the door of the upstairs safe is quite smart, but one problem with it is that it does not extend to the roof, leaving a gap in between. In addition, apart from a couple of gold bars, the safe is quite bare.
The design overall is quite good, but let down by the police car. 8/10
Pricing Absolutely horrendous. I got this set on discount - definitely not worth the full asking price, especially when you consider that this is not a licensed theme. 3/10
Overall, it 's a good solid set with a couple of flaws but ones that you could live with. It is good fun but again, I would only recommend this set to City fans mainly due to the price. Overall rating : 6/10 (7/10 if you discount the price)."
"If there's one set to get from this theme, then this is it. A solid set which offers great playability, thoughtful design and better value that the other sets in this theme.
Minifigures Where to I start? Just great! You get 5, starting with Jack Sparrow and Joshamee Gibbs who have 2 sided heads (scared look and angry/smug look). in addition, there's a coach driver and 2 soldiers, one of which follows the same design as the Imperial Soldiers from the Pirates theme. I have to say that the details of the minifigures in this theme have to date surpassed my expectations - superb. 9/10
Build Straightforward. There's nothing really spectacular about the build, but the lack of large blocks means that this set comes together brick by brick which is a lot more enjoyable in my opinion. 8/10
Design Good and bad depending on how you look at it. Firstly, with the wagon and the carriage, they've been very well done. Both have action features - the carriage's roof can be flicked up, whilst the wagon can be made to "catch fire" via a simple spinning mechanism. In addition, both doors of the carriage open - however, there's only really enough room inside for one figure.
The Tavern's design is both good and bad. This also has an action feature incorporated into the design whereby the barrels can be made to roll. The side wall can also come away via a "hinge" mechanism. What I don't like about the Tavern however, is the fact that they've only given us half a building. What happened to the other half? I know that I may be nitpicking, but this seriously detracts from the set in terms of it's appearance. And in addition, to me it makes the set incomplete...... So for the design overall..... a 7/10
Pricing Reasonable for what this set offers, especially since it's also a licensed theme. Still a little on the expensive side but given that this is a well designed set that offers a good build and excellent minifigures, well worth it. 7/10
Overall, good fun - both in terms of it's construction, and playability afterward. Could be perhaps the best set in this theme - 8/10."
