" This is a great HQ and a nice addition to the Space Police theme. It's got very good playability and will offer hours of fun for any one, adults included!! Now onto the pros and cons;
Pros
1. A nice base for the Space Police theme. Really goes well with the VPR fighters as well as the Galactic enforcer. A lot of attention to detail has been put into this set; in particular, the addition of the shooting range, the officer's lounge and the control room.
2. 3 vehicles for the Space Police unit; 2 rocket bikes plus the transport truck. That's plenty for any HQ.
3. You get 2 bad guys with this set - Craniac and Jawson. Craniac also comes with his own vehicle.
Cons
Please note - I'm being quite picky here!
1. The stickers are a real pain. There's way too many of them. Adds to the detail I guess, but perhaps time to go back to the printed blocks like in the good 'ol days.
2. The placement of the prison pods in this set are questionable. The prison area is right in front of the base making it very accessible for Craniac to break Jawson out. The containment area perhaps should have been placed out back....
3. Only 2 officers for a HQ? Come on.......
4.The officer's lounge is quite cramped. In addition, you need to remove the oxygen tanks from the minifig for them to sit in the chairs, only question then is, where do you keep the oxygen tank? Some storage space would be nice.
5. There is no chair in the control room.
6. Would have been nice to have had a landing platform incorporated into this set for the VPR's to land.
7. The transport truck doesn't really fit into the garage area. The back of it sticks out.
I have to say, overall, I really like this set. If you're into Space Police, the you need to get it - no space police collection would be complete without it. "

" Like the title says, this is a good set, but not a great one. This is, from memory, the 3rd snow speeder that Lego has released (not including the UCS one). It's been well designed with a good build and accurate color scheme but even despite this, I do have serious queries regarding the cost.
It retails for $80 in Australia ($70 U.S. or approx 50 euros), which is far too much for a set of this size. This set does have certain benefits; such as the Wampa but this still does not justify the cost. Especially considering some of the issues with this set.
Firstly, the snow speeder as previously mentioned, has been very well designed but the cockpit is extremely cramped. The build is such that you can't "fix" Zev into position as there's no studs for him to sit on so he tends to move around in the cockpit far too easily if Luke isn't placed in the back. If you place Luke in the back however, you'll struggle to close the cockpit properly. It can be done, but it's an almighty challenge.
Secondly. the Wampa Cave is very simple and is actually a little boring. There's not much to get excited about here, and it really plays second fiddle to the main attraction of this set which is the snow speeder.
There's also a few stickers with this set, nothing too challenging which is good but you'd think for the price, we might have gotten some printed bricks instead.
Overall, I'd say that you would only buy this set for the snow speeder. If you have one of the earlier ones that Lego released (such as with set 7666 the Hoth Rebel Base), then give this set a miss, especially in Australia. "

" This is a good set that will go with the new Lego airport - if you don't have the airport, you need to think what you're going to do with a set like this. It doesn't really go or fit in with anything else in the Lego city world.
Like all Impulse sets, this is pretty basic. The trolley has a nice design, and one exciting feature with this set is the travelers bag which I have never seen before - think this is a new piece. On the down side, I think Lego need to think about designing a new torso for it's City minifigs - I've got about 4-5 minifgs in my city now who all seem to be wearing the same thing!! "

" I like this set. Having said that, I liked the previous fire station (7945) more. It was better value for money and was probably better in terms of appearance as well.
This new station does come with some new never seen before additions; I like the addition of bunk beds as well as the TV on the upper floor of the station (even if the TV is too close to the door) and the design of the reception area downstairs is simple, but also effective. One thing I don't like however is that this part of the station is extremely narrow - it's only 4 studs wide on the inside and so
a) appears very cramped and
b) makes this part of the station a little disproportionate to the rest of it.
The garage section is also a new design, with a room/office in between. Don't get too excited though - this room unlike the main building doesn't have much of a design internally; it only contains a oxygen tank and mask and so is pretty much empty.
The two garages follow a similar build to previous sets, although garage no. 2 isn't long enough so the fire truck sticks out at the back.
The larger fire truck sits 2 minifigs comfortably; however, again I preferred the design of the truck that came with the previous station. I don't like the use of ladders here and prefer the crane mechanism the was employed in the previous truck (7945). The smaller fire car that sits in garage no. 1 contains an extinguisher and an oxygen mask with tank. It doesn't have a fire hose and so is probably more for search and rescue rather than for putting out major fires.
This is a nice set but the design seems a little awkward, even disproportionate. Also, there are way too many stickers in this set; seems like there's not much we can do and that we're stuck with them.
Overall, it's not bad but if you had the choice, you'd probably still go with set 7945 (the previous station) rather than this one. It's better value for money and a better build as well. "

" This ship has to be the best ship that Lego have designed and produced to date. The attention to detail and the overall build of this set shows that a lot of thought has been put into it.
Firstly, to the build of this set;
1. The bags aren't numbered so again, finding the right pieces takes time. It took me 4 hour to construct this ship.
2. The mast sections contains a large number of small pieces and so can be frustrating to construct. It definitely wasn't the most enjoyable part of this set, and notice must be paid to the 14+ age rating when building this section.
3. The entire top deck is only secured by 8 studs. Whilst this might seem that the top deck may not stay on too well, it is surprisingly quite secure. Having said that, my ship is for display and not play purposes, so as a play toy, it may be a bit flimsy.
4. The captains deck (with the stering wheel) isn't even secured on at all. It's simply placed on top of the captain's cabin and sits there. Again, it's surprisingly quite secure, although again, if it's played with, you may find it a little frustrating.
The detail is the other impressive aspect of this set. At the stern of the ship, there's a small kitchen with a variety of saucepans, and utensils. The prison at the bow probably isn't necessary however - I would have preferred a solider's quarters instead where the crew could sleep and relax.
Inside the captain's cabin is a set of drawers, and an organ. I'm not sure if the organ is a good addition, and suspect it may have been inspired by Pirates of the Carribean but it has been designed very well and looks very realistic. A bed may have been more appropriate than the organ, but I guess I'm just being picky.
A few problems do exist with this set however.
1. There's no crow's nest for the lookout.
2. A ship of this size should have a small rowboat with it.
3. A ship of this size needs a larger crew - 5 + admiral just isn't enough.
4. The cannon's tend to roll around too easily - there's nothing to secure them in place at the ports. I had to place an extra brick behind each cannon to stop them from moving around.
5. The price - at $280 aud, this is not cheap and the price for a set of this size, whilst large, is a little excessive, especially considering that it's not a Star Wars set.
Overall, a definite must have, despite the price. I can see that this is one of those sets that will be worth a small fortune in a few years time..... "

" This is not a bad set but it does have it's limitations. I think that the main issue here is that it's not a set that's got great playability on it's own. If you're not really into the city theme, or you don't own a Lego train, then you may want to spend your money on a different set. And at $80Aud, this isn't exactly cheap either.
It's not a bad design - although I would have liked to see some ticket gates incorporated into the set. Also, too much reliance is given to the overhead bridge and tracks to hold the two platforms, and thus the set together, and so it can be a bit flimsy.
This set comes with 4 minifigs ad there's also a ticketing office/convenience store on one side, but compared to previous Lego stations, this one seems a little small and is a bit disappointing. As mentioned before, there's not really much you can do with this set on it's own. I mean, in essence it's only 2 platforms separated by train tracks. If you have a Lego city or a train however, your playability options increase significantly.
One more thing before I sign off - I have to mention the taxi. I love it. It's very well designed, is the first 4 stud vehicle to sit 2 minifigs and even has room at the back for luggage. Well done Lego!. Only downside - the stickers. They're super small (especially the one on top thatt says TAXI) and extremely difficult to place right. "

" This set reminds me of the fighter jets that you see in some of the space themes..... where the primary purpose is to either escort a larger spaceship, or to attack the enemy. As far as fighters go, this isn't a bad set. It's got a very simple design and build, and the booster rocket at the back seems a little small in terms of width (this is a new Lego piece if I'm not mistaken) but it's also a nice addition to the Space Police theme. The cockpit actually opens on a hinge rather than having to be pulled off which makes a nice change and the flick fire missiles work quite well here. The only real downside is that the Rench (the Alien) doesn't have a vehicle of his own. It's a bit like the Squidman set from last year in that sense. "

" As the first fortress that Lego have done with a Persian/middle eastern theme, I have to give this one the thumbs up.
First of all, I have to say that the actual fortress itself when built is a lot smaller than what it appears on the box - it certainly doesn't rise as high as castles of past years, and I think the actual dimensions in terms of depth/length is a little shorter too. Having said that, there's some very nice features in the build of this set.
Firstly, the wall on the right has steps that can be shifted so that your minifigs can climb the wall either from the outside, or the inside. The opposite wall on the left has a section that you can remove to create a secret passage into, or out of the fortress.
The main gates are guarded by 2 small catapults and also a couple of barrels of hot oil to pour over any unwanted intruders.
The real winner of this set however, has to be the palace itself - its full of detail. The use of the gold domes really add to the persian feel of the set, along with the open balcony and the arched doorways.
The lower floor of the palace is quite simple - on the right, there's 2 gold goblets, on the left, a gold scorpion. In the middle is what is supposed to be a well (I think) in which the dagger of time is hidden. The top floor consists of a throne to the right, and a weapons room on the left.
The build of this set is quite enjoyable, especially when you consider that Lego have minimised the number of large blocks that they have used in the design, meaning that you actually build the walls brick by brick in most sections. You also get a fair number of minifigs - Nirzam, 2 hasassins, 2 guards as well as Dastan and Seso. If you combine this with the Desert Attack set, you will have more than enough minifigs to stage a mini battle - possibly even across themes!!
In all, I would have to say that this well worth the money, and is possibly one of the best sets that Lego will release in 2010. It's not cheap, but you won't regret this buy. "

" This is the first PoP set that I got - mainly as a starter pack to the theme. There's not a lot to say - pretty much what you see is what you get - 2 hasassins plus Dastan on a horse.
It's a good set to get to complete your set of hasassins and the minifigs make a nice addition to Alamut fortress, but in terms of value for money, it's a bit lacking. You definitely need other sets to maximise the playability of this set. Special mention has to be made of the new headpiece for the hasassins however - very nice and adds a real persian/middle eastern feel to the theme. "

" This set ha been very well thought out and designed - in it's entirety, it's very hard to fault. The overall build is enjoyable and the way the front propellors can rotate to reveal the hidden shooting canoon/torpedo is probably the highlight of this set. The cockpit is a little small so the diver needs to be seated slightly reclined, and again, there's no storage space for the filppers but those are just about the only two faults that I can find.
If you get this chance, this set is well worth getting - it would make a nice addition to anyone's lego collection!! "
