" This is an essential set for any lego city fan - a great city builder. It provides us with the first lego bus. The build of the bus is quite straightforward, and the designers have done a really good job here to make it quite realistic. It sits 5 people (excluding the driver) with extra space for those standing. The bus stop makes a very nice finishing touch to this aspect of the set.
The two shops are also quite simple in build and design. The first, a bicycle repair and skateboard shop is quite small and it's hard to believe that this is a shop at all given it size. It does have some nice external touches however, with security cameras but where's the door??
The pizzaria has some nice interior features such as the oven and tables/chairs and is a lot more believable than the skateshop. There's a fair amount of stickers with this set as well, but nothing too large so the placement is relatively easy. Overall, a very nice set but again, is slightly let down by then pricing - at $99 aud, I recommend that you get this on sale.
Pros
Lego bus
A must for any lego city - complements city sets nicely
Fair amount of minifigs - 5
Streetlamps add a nice realistic touch to the set
Cons
A bit pricey

" A good set, and essential for any lego city. The overall build is quite simple. The best part is the 3 vehicles you get with this set. The design of the blue pickup and red truck follow a similar build to previous cars/trucks in other sets. The tow truck however, is something a little different if not unusual. I've never seen a tow truck like this in real life, but it works quite well in terms of playability.
The garage itself is divided into three main sections. The first, the office, is quite small but it's also quite detailed. The garage section which houses the tow truck looks impressive at first, but in fact it's too small for the truck. You need to fold in the side mirrors to get the truck in and even after that, the truck is too long for the garage and part of it sticks out towards the back. This is an unusual oversight on the part of the lego designers.
The thrid section of this garage, the repair section in the middle is where most of the problems are. Firstly, who ever heard of an open air repair shop? No roof, no front section, no security. It seems that this part of the set came together by accident rather than by design. Also, the top of this seciton with the hooks is quite flimsy and comes off too easily.I would have liked a bit more sturdiness in this part of the garage, an issue that frontage and a roof may have addressed.
You get 4 minifigs with this set - a reasonable number. There aren't any large stickers so placing them is not as difficult as with other sets, but there's still a lot of them.
Overall, a nice set, but design could have been better. "

" Ok lego what's up? These battlepacks are usually $20 Aud, now the price has gone up, but the brick count hasn't!!
This is a nice set for building your snowtrooper army. The speeder bike that comes with it is exactly the same as you get with the Repubilc Gunship (the second version) except for the difference in color scheme. Very realistic. You get a little battle station as well which is very simplistic really and could have been better, especially given the price increase.
One problem I have with this set is that there should have been one more snowtrooper rather than give yoiu the AT AT Driver. I mean, if you want to build an army, you don't need that many AT AT drivers, plus, this set doesn't even come with the AT AT.
Overall, a nice little set, like most of the battle packs have been. "

" I think this is the first Nute Gunray minifig that Lego has produced. It's a nice set overall, a relatively simple build. My main fault with it is that it's a little small - it only has space for 1 minifig - Nute Gunray in the rear section whilst the cockpit can only comfortably fit the pilot droid. It would have been nice if the Shutlle could have had room for all three droids (after all, they're meant to guard the Vice Roy!) as well as both minifigs in the back. You can fit all 3 droids in the cockpit but they need to be folded up to do it.
There's the customary stickers with this set which again is a real pain. The shuttle overall is however quite sturdy, even though you may be surprised at how small it actually is once built. For the price, it's not too bad, especially given that this is Star Wars we're talking about!
Pros
Nute Gunray
Solid shuttle - no loose sections
Cons
Sitckers - again!
Quite small - not large enough to fit all the minifig.

" This set is a throwback to the large spaceships of the 80's and early 90's. It has been well thought out in it's design and was enjoyable to build. My main concern was again the lack of police minifigs - a ship like this should have at least 5. Also, there's a large amount of stickers that need to be placed, and not all of them can be placed nicely as some are rather large and others are transparent so you see some air pockets underneath.
To the ship itself - the design is fantastic. The ship is designed to break apart so that the front cockpit section becomes a mini-spaceship on it's own - or you can combine it with the two smaller spaceships which detach from the main hull at the back to make a larger craft. The main issue I have with the cockpit section is that despite looking quite spacious, you can stil only fit one person in there comfortably. You can cram a 2nd person in, but it just doesn't look right.
The main hull has a nice interior design - with an abuandance of weapons and accessories. It also contains a small land vehicle which I think is designed to be driven standing up rather than sitting down due to the funny angulation of it. The two smaller ships that detach from the back are somewhat bulky and not very streamlined - not sure what the idea was here but nonetheless, can't complain too much.
The prison pods are a little fragile - the front section does come off a little too easily and also the placement of stickers here is a real pain.
The villians spaceship is relatively simple in design but it does look good and lego have done a really good job here. It's also got a firing cannon and is quite realistic as an alien ship.
Overall, if not for the stickers, this would be a 5/5 set - even for the price.
Pros
Very nice design - detachable sections make for great hours of playing
Fun build
Cons
Stickers!!
Lack of space police minifgis

" This isn't the most impressive set - the only reason I got it was because it was 60% off the marked price - so I guess in terms of value for money, it was worth it but definitely not if you have to pay full price. To the actual set - the build is very straightfoward and symmetrical, so it can be somewhat dull. Also there is a lack of trolls with this set - you only get 2 large ones (which is fine) but only 2 smaller trolls (if you discount the king troll and the witch). However, this set does complement the King's Castle well and does maximise the playability of the overall Castle theme. If you have the troll ship, then this set becomes as must for the sake of completeness if nothing else.
The overall fortress is quite basic - it would have been nice to see some assymmetry and disorganisation in the build but it may have been easier for the lego designers to just have it this way. In comparison to previous lego fortresses (think Fort Legoredo, Vladek's Dark Fortress, Dragon Fortress from Orient Expedition) this set leaves a lot to be desired. Not one of lego's better designs, and especially not worth the money. Unless, of course, you get it on sale!!
Pros
No stickers!!
Complements other Castle sets nicely
Cons
Lack of trolls
Build is way too simple and a little dull - fortress is very basic
The price!! (not that I can complain)

" This has to be the best of the Lego City sets and the best police station ever! The detail is just incredible!! You get 3 vehicles with this set - a bike, car and van - all of which complement the set nicely and really add to the value. The set also comes with 5 police officers and 2 criminals which also add to the value given that lego sets generally don't come with many minifigs.
To the building itself - 2 garages to park the car and van. Inside the HQ, you get a reception, interorgation room, a coffee area and another room with a safe. Each room is quite detailed given that the rooms themselves aren't very big. To the jail - you get 2 to them and the details in these jail cells are even better! They come with a bed and a toilet!!! The back of the jail cells come away to simulate a prison breakout! But even if that happens, just use the flashlights on top of the buildings to locate and re capture your crooks!
Again, the only downside would have to be the stickers - I really wish lego would get ride of them and go back to printing the images on the blocks like in the good old days. It's almost impossible to place all the sitckers perfectly. All in all though, and excellent set and an even better buy!
Pros
Good value for money
3 vehicles
7 minifigs
Great detail in HQ and prison
Very enjoyable build and playability
Cons
Stickers, stickers, stickers!! Please get rid of them!!

" I got this set to complement my Carribean Clipper that I got in 1990 as I missed out on the El dorado fortress at the time. It's not a bad set in terms of assembly and playability, although you would probably need to collect further pirate sets to maximise it's playability.
To be honest, for $80 Aud, there's not really much there. I small jail, a tower and a handful of minifigs. For the money, it would have been nice to have gotten a soldiers cabin for them to sleep in as well - also the title "soldier's fort" is a bit misleading. This isn't a fort at all - it's more like a pier! Would have been nice if this was more like the old Eldorado fortress that was released in the late 80's - now THAT is a fort! In all, a nice set but definitely not worth the money.
Pros
good playability
easy assembly
few stickers!!!
new minifigs!! - 1 admiral, 1 commanding officer, 2 soldiers, 2 pirates.
Cons
not much there - only a jail and a tower really.
far too expensive

" a nice little set except for the price. a great addition to any other star wars lego theme sets but on it's own, you'd get bored of it pretty quickly as there's not much apart from the minifigs. Also at $40 Aud for only 155 pieces, it's more than a bit pricey. About $15 cheaper and it would have been a good buy. "
